The location of the resort is yet rather isolated, the areas around it are still under development. The pictures on the internet and the brochures provided by the hotel show a long, sandy beach with sun beds and shades, but that is the biggest lie! The resort actually has no beach at all, since the water comes all the way to the protective stone wall. Next to the resort there is a nice sandy area, and a bay suitable for swimming, marked with flags (in the length of about 40 m), no rocks, quite calm water. However, a resort is under construction next to Phu Hai, and when completed, obviously their guests will be using this beach area primarily. Walking on the beach is only possible in the early morning hours, at low tide, but you must be aware that the entire area is filled with large rocks, stones making it very dangerous to swim in. After around noon water covers the entire beach. We were really surprised to see that a quite expensive hotel, the Victoria has been built here, with no beach and unsuitable for swimming. The Phu Hai resort itself is nice, the garden is well maintained, spacious, nice pool with flowering trees and bushes around it.There are two tennis courts which were hardly ever used. Our room was good size and the bathroom tile had nice colour, really chearful and we had our private balcony. The shower was strong, but the water did not go down fast enough. We complained but nothing happened. The hotel provides suttle bus at 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. to Mui-Ne, where you can find dozens of restaurants, but we thought it was ridiculous that they charged for it. A resort that is so isolated from everything should give complimentary shuttle service to compensate for the poor location. We stayed 3 nights here, collected a lot of insect bites (don't know if in the sea or while walking on the beach) which tortured us for another week. We had one dinner at the hotel restaurant, nothing special. To sum it up, this is a resort that has many nice features and many disadvantages, we tried to make the most of our stay but most likely will not come back here again.
