Only four hours away by bus from Ho Chi Minh City, Phan Thiet is a quiet little beach town with a charming fishing village atmosphere. The town is surrounded by a string of rolling hills, green vegetation and a sheltered shoreline covered with sand dunes.

Phan Thiet is really more of a resort town for those who want to relax and take it easy, as well as for avid water sports enthusiasts. There are, however, some good and exciting activities for children. Beaches are always popular and provide endless opportunities for play, while sliding down a sand dune is something the kids will talk about with their friends even when they’ve returned home.

While attractions in Phan Thiet city itself are somewhat limited, the beautiful surroundings provide lots of great sights to visit. One of the main places of interest in the city is the charming harbour with its fishing boats. There are also plenty of pagodas and natural attractions within easy reach.

The nearest airport to Phan Thiet is in Ho Chi Minh City, 200kms northeast. Ho Chi Minh City’s Tan Son Nhat Airport, also known as its airport code SGN, is Vietnam’s biggest international airport and more international flights land here than in Hanoi, the capital city. The main service providers at the airport are Vietnam Air, Pacific Airlines, Air France, Cathay Pacific, Japan Airlines, Lufthansa, KLM, Malaysian Airlines, Thai Airways, Qantas and Singapore Airlines. The airport offers regular flights to 18 destinations in Asia and Europe.
