Rated #40 for all Ho Chi Minh hotels

The Riverside Hotel in HCM has a fantastic position overlooking the Saigon river with the same views but at a fraction of the price of the magnificent Majestic hotel next door. Our room and bathroom were perfectly adequate; breakfast was not great, and unless you were early the fruit ran out; but the evening meal was among the best we had in Vietnam, even if the dining room's ambience leaves a lot to be desired. All in all, this hotel is really good value, and I'd be surprised if the rates remain modest as they seem to be renovating the upper floors which open to a roof garden. The every frie...

Fantastic location as next to Dong Khoi street..the main shopping street. Accessible by walk to all major tourist sights..The room was comfortable for 3 people.Unfortunately the room did not have a window with any views but a brick wall. The staff were helpful .

The every friendly and helpful concierce/doorman deserves special thanks.

The room 108 has just a window to a yard. No view to the river. A bit unpersonal. I guess the rooms in upper floors are better. The size was very big. And the price was quit OK.

The location of this hotel is great, by the river in District 1. Staff of the hotel was very friendly and helpful. However both the hotel and rooms and quite old and worn down.

Good location oppossite river away from city centre but close enough to walk or easy transport at door. Friendly helpful staff. Nice restaurant, but no lounge or bar area. Rooms need refreshing, bit old and musty.

Pretty good location and rooms are cosy but without windows. The corridors are bare but safe. Problem is that taxi drivers always drop you at the Omni Riverside a few houses away.

Easy access to most attractions on District 1.Upper floor has a nice view of Saigon river, also close to the hydrofoil that travels to Vung Tau or the ferries going to the Mekong Delta.Food,I only ate breakfast here, which is a standard breakfast(fruit, eggs, mik, toast, cereal, etc.) In my oppinion is better to explore around the city for a real taste of Vietnamese food. The hotel in general needs to have a face lift,it feel like a dull place to stay, rooms (at least the one I stayed on)was below average I would say, beds were somewhat hard and not cozy,it lacked decoration or better placement of furniture.Tv was place in a corner at the same level as the bed which made it uncomfortable to watch tv for a long time.Staff was average,I did not have any incidents with them but I feel they should try a little harder to make the guest feel at home.I stayed here for 5 days only, then I moved to a minihotel on the Phu Nhuan area, which I like more than the Riverside.
