Considered very expensive in Vietnam but excellent value for money. Breakfast buffet is awesome (included in price of hotel) Excellent amenities (massage, gym facilities, pool...) and great location to the Tourist Market and Pho 2000. They even let you store your luggage fro free if you go on a multiple day excursion. If you want to be pampered I highly recommend the New World....

Hotel location is excellent close to Ben Thanh Market and only about 10mins walk to the city centre. Very large swimming pool about 25-30m, you could swim laps.
Reasonable good gym with a good range of weight equipment. Unfortunately, no self-using washing machines.Very good large variety of breakfast food incl 'Pho' noodle and unlimited pouring of French champagne except it's the same everyday except for the dim sim. Also, no skim milk on table except on request. Room is reasonably large with shower over the bath. Front desk and concierge are excellent. Big lobby.

Their breakfast on the four days I stayed were often not replenished as frequent as it should during peak hours. Likewise, salt bottle that came with room service was empty! I was told room guests have to order their newspapers upon booking if it wish the newspapers to be delivered to their rooms. Further, the room charge does not include the cost of newspapers. When I related these to a representative of a travel agency in HCM City, he found it starnge and unusual.

We enjoyed staying at the hotel which was our first stop in Vietnam. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the buffet breakfasts and other buffet meals were outstanding. The hotel is a little bit out of the way of most of the best shopping in the city but it was only a relatively short taxi ride to get to most tourist sights
