Rated #5 for all Ho Chi Minh hotels
The Hotel Majestic lived up to it's name in every way. From the moment we walked through the doors it seemed that their exceptional staff were there only for us. I can not speak highly enough of this hotel, and their excellent service made a great holiday absolutely fantastic. The room was excellently kept, the staff went so above and beyond the call of duty (We had a birthday in the Serenade restaurant and they organised a cake, pianist and every single staff member sang happy birthday) and the food in the restaurants was delicious. The Majestic is, in every way, what a 5 star hotel shoul...

The Majestic is everything you'd expect from a five star hotel - and more, as it has history. The rooftop bar, with its stunning views of the city and river (and the insane traffic below, from a distance which lends enchantment as the noise is muted) has seen many famous people and events. Situation couldn't be better in a locations where you can (safely) walk to most of the key places - tourist venues, restaurants, shops etc. Price is outstanding as there's no pressure to pay the rack rate.

We were rather disappointed with the restaurants in the Hotel. Tried, then decided to eat out, pity because the breakfast and the bars are rather good.

The hotel management should treasure customer like me who use them frequently although I booked thru the internet. I should be given special discount from the walk-in rate just in case I need to walk-in and unable to book through the net. This builds up customer loyalty and I could encourage more of my buisness friends tostay at Majestic Hotel.

Only downside of this hotel was the traffic noise; river view rooms are above a main arterial which is always busy (and noisy). Other than that, a delightful hotel with wonderful art-deco furnishings. We would definitely go back

The Majestic is a beautiful hotel built in 1926. The older rooms are very spacious with wonderful wooden floors and marble bathrooms. The hotel from outside is very impressive and the foyer and breakfasting areas look out onto the street and the Saigon river. The restaurants and bars provide good meals and excellent views although at a price. The only negative point is that the river view rooms also look over the busy main road. The traffic in Saigon is very noisy and the city comes to life at 6.00 am.

Unfortunately this Hotel was under going major renovations to its Elevators & Swimming Pool. The noise was extremely disconcerting during the whole stay, and despite changing Rooms, the levels didn't abate. Rather disappointing as we were looking forward to using the Pool of which we had seen pictures and chose accordingly to stay. Prior notification of these renovations would have been appreciated and we could have made other arrangements. The concierge wre most helpful however, but the reception staff were a little amused by our complaints re the noise factors and inconvenience of having to go one block up the road for a swim! The dinner buffet for $US 10 was great and breakfast was also good. The location of the Majestic is its prime catch! Right on the river with really good views from the 5th floor restaurant & bar. Check out the renovations before you stay here!!

I liked very much the hotel in general. It was very nice the Bar with terrace in the top floor. I enyoyed a lot the swimming pool although the space around the swimining pool is not big enough. Gym area is also limited. The quarter has plenty of nice shops.

The breakfast was wonderful---we had a private 3rd floor area for eating due to the overbooking of the hotel--we were placed on the Exec. Floor--without the perks BUT allowed to use the special breakfast room--great stay. We did have trouble with the key to the door but they sent a maintance man up to correct it promptly.

Get a room away from the street (facing into the pool area) or else the noise from the street will be deafening by 4AM. The waterfront is prime time to the very early morning comute. This is a great hotel to get a taste of the French Colonial days.
