Rated #35 for all Ho Chi Minh hotels
The Liberty 4 Hotel was probably the best 3-star hotel we have stayed at in our two visits to Vietnam. It is rather expensive for this rating, but that is probably what you can expect in Saigon. Its rooms are generally spacious, spotlessly clean and well-maintained. It has a very nice restaurant on the top floor, with both inside and outside seating, which serves an excellent buffet breakfast (we didn't dine there at night this time around, mostly because there are a number of excellent restaurants nearby). This brings us to another point worth mentioning - the Liberty 4 hotel enjoys a ver...

This brings us to another point worth mentioning - the Liberty 4 hotel enjoys a very handy location - close to the centre of town and right in among the downtown 'backpacker' area - restaurants, bars, shops and the Ben Thanh market are all in close proximity. Be warned, though, that the location does have its downsides if you want a long night's sleep. Pham Ngu Lao is probably one of the busiest streets in the whole of Vietnam as far as traffic goes, and if you don't want to be woken early you'd be well advised to ask for a room at the rear of the hotel. Finally - the staff are the hotel's best feature. They are very friendly, super-helpful and thoroughly professional.

I do not recommend to stay at this hotel: This would be an average to good hotel except for one thing: The karaoke-bar on the 2nd level did not stop playing loud music until 1.30 am though we complained several times and the staff promised to stop the music. We were staying in the 3rd floor and it was impossible to sleep as long as they played music.

Reception staff not the friendliest and do not listen to your requests, e.g. wanting another room because the one you have been allocated is not what you booked, is way too small and very noisy. The only plus for this hotel would be its location and that's all!

The room needs a bit of updating but otherwise OK. The staff were friendly and helpful and is close to most attractions.
