We'd booked a Deluxe room, old wing, which was not quite ready when we checked in, but we were given an arrival drink & by the time we'd finished this, check in had been handled smoothly & the room was ready. The room, on pool level, in the old wing, was entered from the pool area, via a large sitting room with settee, lounge chairs, writing desk & chair & a large book cabinet. Furniture here & in the room was in keeping with the French colonial era. The room itself had a small balcony overlooking the side street, but we had no noise from here or the pool area. The bed was one of the most comf...

The stay was just average. Location was good, but the price expectation was not met. With the price that i had paid, I believe I could have gotten something better!

I only liked the location ie Dong Koi street-lovly road with nice shops, food etc. I was totally unhappy with the noise from next room which was an adjoining room. Hot water inadequate to fill bath and reception staff should be more pleasing.

This was a beautiful historic hotel that had been updated with all of the modern features you could ask for.The only downside was the lack of internet access in the rooms. They offer a wireless service but I was unable to get this in my room. As I was traveling on business this was a more serious probklem than if I had been on holiday. The lovely rooms and the comfort of the hotel was enough to ioffset this inconvenience. I plan on making this my new hotel for when I am in Ho chi Minh. The hotel has no fitness center to speak of, but has a gorgeous pool.

An excellent hotel in a good, central location. The staff are friendly, courteous and very helpful. Only minor criticisms are having to pay for internet access and the travel excursions are pricey if booked via the hotel. Can recommend this hotel and will stay there again next time we are in Saigon.

The bed was one of the most comfortable we had slept in during our tour of Vietnam & Laos. Loved the embroidered sheet discovered at turn down service which included chocolates & a scroll with a Vietnamese wise saying! Room amenities were plentiful, & included 2 of each towelling & 'silk' bathrobes. A secondary individual airconditioner was available in case the hotel's main air conditioner was not sufficient, but we did not need to use it. The bathroom had 2 showers - one over the bath plus a separate shower cubicle - with excellent supplies of hot water & great shower heads. This room, with its annex certainly had a touch of class. The rooftop Bellevue bar/restaurant was an excellent spot to enjoy the complimentary cocktail & the splendid view of the river at dusk. Breakfast in Chez Nous restaurant included western & eastern dishes & had a wide variety of choices. We could not think of anything that was missing.

Definitely worth staying in the old wing. Hotel is 'tired' but has a lot of character.

We booked a deluxe room and expected to be in the Old Wing from the information on your website. We were however given a very spacious room on the 10th floor of the new wing. It had very good views, 3 windows and was quiet so we did not ask for the old wing. The shower in the room did not work very well, which was the only complaint we had. Very elegant hotel. We have seen many weddings here. The breakfast was excellent. Very lovely swimming pool in old wing. The location is also excellent and in the quietish part of a very lively area of the city. We have stayed here before and will stay here again.

Grand Hotel has the old colonial look. Room is clean. Buffet breakfast has a good spread as compared with another hotel I stayed. Hotel staff is not able to accommodate me further dates when I wanted room for my return from Mekong river tour. Overall I rate the hotel is value for money.

room service was not very good. the air conditioner did not work very well. there was not even a guide of any type to explain the accessories at the hotel. I was staying in a deluxe suite. it could have been much better for the price I was paying.

For my first time back to Vietnam since 1970 and my first time in Saigon the hotel staff did an amazing job in every aspect of our stay. They were frendly, helpful and more than willing to go the extra mile to make sure we had everything we need. On my next trip back I plan on staying at the Grand Hotel again.

The location and style of the Hotel ia most appealing, we where very fortunate to be upgraded to a executive suite due to an overbooking by the Hotel. This was seen to without any fuss or bother to us by the staff. Would recomend this Hotel to any one thinking of staying in H.C.M.C. FOR BOTH A SHORT OR LONG STAY.

the rooms are really quiet and comfortable. a great place to get rid of jet lag and be in the centre of the city, but shabby-needs a good renovation. could be outstanding as it has a great location, but currently is not good.

the only disappointment was in our room itself! carpets in need of replacement, even a fresh coat of paint would go a long way to brightening the room. large room, but it felt rather empty. otherwise, nice desk and wardrobe and bathroom was all marble and a good size. attentive, prompt, good english, service with a smile! breakfast buffet was excellent, with white tablecloths and a calm, refined atmosphere - very "civilized" and "proper". like a first class brunch buffet in north america! poolside service with fresh fruit drinks was yummy. on a main street that's easy to find, lots of shops nearby to eat and have a coffee. walking distance to lots of sights.
