The Galaxy Hotel is well situated in the Old Quarter and is in easy walking distance to many main Tourist ares, sites and markets in Hanoi. Areas outside walking distance are easily arrived at by Taxi and Tour buses that the very friendly staff are only too happy to arrange for you. Main mention goes to Mr Niem Xuan Nguyen. Mr Nguyen was one of the front desk managers at the hotel. He put extra effort in to make our stay that much more enjoyable. Nothing was ever any trouble for him as he dealt with many large groups of foreign tourists. He arranged tours at our request without fuss, and had..

I had a great stay. The food was very good. The hotel is very central to the Old Qarter and French Quarter. I will definitely stay there again.

People are what makes your holiday memorable. I will be recommending The Galaxy Hotel and Mr Nguyen to my family and friends that are traveling to Vietnam in 2011 and beyond. Did not enjoy our stay here, checked out because breakfast was awful, staff very unfriendly and it is old and tired. location on the fringe of the old quarter. over priced. do not recommend the Galaxy.

i was at this hotel August 2007 and they were in the middle of renovating their ground floor area, it was really dusty and messy. The staff need more training, they were not particularly helpful. The breakfast was ok, the location is fairly convenient. Staff needs more training, They didn't turn on their air conditioning in the hall way, it was really hot and stuffy.

I liked staying here. The rooms were clean and spacious. We had to pay an extra 1USD for the use of the safe in the room. They didn't have anyone to organize tours for me and my aunt as was advertised. During breakfast, some of the bigger tables had an extra menu for breakfast dishes and as we sat in the smaller tables we didn't know and weren't informed that we can get some different items for breakfast. Very helpful customer service and and generally good service from the hotel staff. I might go back here for my next trip to Hanoi.

The hotel was of a good standard with fairly large rooms. My only major gripe was that it was difficult to sleep in due to its location on a busy corner and the drivers penchant for constantly using their horns as a means of navigating the horrible chaos of traffic.

Hotel provided in-room internet and currency exchange services that revealed it to be a 3 star hotel with ambition. We stayed in two rooms and was impressed with the second one which was reasonably large with good fittings and furniture. Location is at the top of the old quarter about 15 minutes walk from the lake. Areas for improvement - provide room service.

A little walk is needed to enter the shopping district, which gives you more insight in the real life in an older part of Hanoi. Can be noisy on the lower floors during the rush hours

The room was excellent value and very clean with a firm bed, nicely furnished with a lovely bathroom. The breakfast buffet was not fancy, but a good variety of hot and cold foods and we loved the fresh fruits available. The location was excellent, as we could easily hail a taxi to all the sights or walk to the shops in the old quarter when it wasn't too hot outside. The hotel is located at a major intersection so it is easy to get back to when directing the taxi driver! We wish all the places we stayed at in vietnam were this good.
