Empress Hotel is a modest hotel whose hallmark is service. While not luxurious, it boasts some upscale touches and although the rooms are on the small side, they are cozy and well laid out. If you are simply looking for somewhere to stay and aren't too fussy about room size, but want to pay budget prices for accommodation then you need look no further than this hotel.

This is a very good choice for a middle-class hotel. It is conveniently located, close to the central market and on the town lake. Staff are helpful and the food was very good. What I did not like is the omnipresent Christmas music, which seems to be the fashion in Vietnam nowadays everywhere, although we are still 3 weeks from Christmas. Even though Dalat has a fairly high rate of Christians, it seems they do this for the tourists. Some might like that, but I think most would prefer a more authentic Asian atmosphere, rather than being drawned in home-away-from-home Christmas parafernalia. Ove...
