Louis Armstrong International Airport can be found 16kms west of downtown New Orleans. It is one of the leading airports in the state of Louisiana and offers many international flights connecting to worldwide capitals across the world. There are also many domestic flights linking the city with other states throughout America. It is a single terminal facility housing four large concourses. The Baggage Claim area and Ticket Hall can be found in the main building.

Facilities at the airport include banks, ATMs and exchange bureaux; business facilities and internet access; information desks; duty-free shopping, a number of eateries and refreshment kiosks; a post office, smoking areas and a lost and found office.

There are excellent amenities for disabled passengers such as wheelchair access throughout, specially adapted toilets, TDD telephones and assistance if required.

Ground transfer options include taxis and limousines, which wait for passengers outside the Baggage Claim area; the airport shuttle service, which takes new arrivals into New Orleans’ city centre; and regular bus services travelling into the city, which depart from Entrance 7.

For those that would prefer to make their own way into the city, it is possible to rent a car at the airport and drive yourself. Rental companies represented at the airport include Alamo, Avis, Budget, Hertz, Thrifty and National.

Over 5,000 parking spaces can be found in both short-term and long-term car parks. Both car parks are within walking distance of the terminal. There are dedicated spaces for disabled passengers, but should you require further assistance, this can be arranged in advance.
