
Nashville International Airport is a single terminal airport situated eight miles south east of the city. The airport is served by 11 airlines with over 400 flights daily and it is a transport hub for Southwest Airlines. There are four concourses (A-D) although only A-C are in use at present. Southwest Airlines, who operate a number of routes from Nashville, are based at concourse C.

The airport has good facilities, with a range of restaurants and cafés, an ice cream parlour and a fine dining room and grill. There are the usual range of airport gift shops and newsagents as well as a number of ATMs and money exchange facilities.
The airport also has a children’s play area and a meditation room. The Airport Welcome Center is located on the baggage reclaim level and any of the beige courtesy phones around the airport can be used to contact the information desk.

If you want to hire a car for your stay in Nashville, you will find Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz and Thrifty all represented here with the pick up area being located close to the terminal building.

There are a number of transport options from the airport. Taxis can be found directly outside the passenger terminal and there are plenty of buses and hotel shuttles on the ground transportation level. The Airport Express Shuttle bus travels between the airport and downtown Nashville and departs from outside the baggage claim area.

There is a range of parking options with both short and long-term parking available. The short-term car park can be found in front of the terminal building, while there is a free shuttle service to and from the long-term car park.

The downtown area is fairly compact and is easily explored by foot. There is a public bus service which travels throughout the greater Nashville area. Bus number 34 links downtown Nashville with Opryland and is a popular route.
The Metropolitan Transit Authority operates bus services in the city and tickets can either be purchased on boarding the buses, at the ticket booths or online. There are a number of passes and discount tickets available. The official bus stops can be found throughout the city, but buses can also be flagged down on route.
Taxis are available in Nashville and it is generally advisable to book one by phone as there are not many taxis plying the streets. The city has a number of different taxi firms operating and your hotel will be able to assist you in finding a reputable firm.

Nashville is on the Greyhound bus network with services departing from the basic terminal on Eighth Avenue. There are connections to a number of destinations nationwide. Within Tennessee, Knoxville and Memphis are both around three hours by road from Nashville.
Nashville’s railway station only deals with freight trains, so the nearest station on the regular Amtrak route is Memphis.
