Myrtle Beach International Airport (MYR) is located at the southern end of the city, about a mile from the Atlantic Ocean. It is accessible from US route 17 and provides commercial service for the Grand Strand region, which encompasses over 60 miles of beaches and beachfront communities stretching from the state's northern border to the historic port city of Georgetown in the south.

The airport is served by a number of air carriers, including Air Canada, Atlantic Southeast Airlines, AirTran Airlines, Continental, Midway, Spirit, US Airways and Vanguard. Flying time is 2 hours from New York, 3 hours, 30 minutes from Chicago, 6 hours, 45 minutes from Los Angeles, 2 hours 30 minutes from Dallas and 11 hours 30 minutes from London.

Facilities at the airport include excellent amenities for disabled passengers; banks and ATMs; internet access points; lost and found; a post office; visitor information; tax-free shopping and a number of eateries.

Once you’ve arrived, it will be easy for you to transfer to your hotel. There are a number of car hire agencies if you would prefer to make your own way into town, and there are also plenty of taxis and limousine services found at Arrivals, ready to take you wherever you choose to go.
Short-term airport parking can be found in front of the terminal while you will find long-term and economy parking lots within a short shuttle ride away.

Amtrak provides rail services to Florence, South Carolina, from which there is bus service making the connection to the Myrtle Beach and the Grand Strand area.

Coast RTA provides regularly-scheduled daily local bus services along major roads throughout the Grand Strand and neighbouring towns. Schedules are available at all offices of the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce. Buses can be somewhat crowded, and the Myrtle Beach area is a bit too large for most visitors to comfortably manage on foot, so many choose to take advantage of the local taxi services. Although taxis are more expensive than using buses, the service is good and taxis can be found throughout the city, especially at tourist attractions, restaurants and nightspots.
