Circle City Grand National Rodeo: is a two-day event which brings cowboys from around the country to show off their skills, including bull and buck riding and lasso competitions.

St Patrick’s Day: is celebrated with gusto in this city, as everything turns to green and a number of Irish festivities take over the town.

Baseball season: is kicked off with the Indianapolis Indians’ inaugural game at Victory Field Stadium.

Indy 500 Festival: is a series of events throughout the month celebrating the success of this famous auto race. Many events and festivities are capped by the massive festival parade, and the race itself.

Indy Jazz Fest: brings some of the best blues, jazz and zydeco bands from around the country for a fun three-day festival.

The United States Grand Prix: is the only Formula One World Championship race held in America. Drivers from more than 15 countries compete at the Indy track.

Essence Fest: features some of America’s best soul artists, who play a series of concerts around the city. Cultural and educational events about the African American community are also scheduled

The Indiana State Fair: runs for 11 days and includes fun of all kinds for kids and adults alike. This family event has a fun park, pioneer village and state fair competitions.

The Brickyard 400: is the biggest NASCAR race in the state and always proves to be an exciting event. It is held at the Indy racetrack.

Indy Irish Festival: celebrates the fact that the Irish are the second largest ethnic group in the city. This three-day affair brings Irish culture to the limelight.

The Pernod Arts Fair: features the work of more than 300 artists and galleries, along with quality live entertainment and great food.

The Circle City Classic: is an annual event that features a big football game between rival universities. The weekend of celebrations aims to promote the state’s black colleges and universities.

Circle of Lights: marks the beginning of the festive Christmas season with live entertainment and the official illumination of the elaborate Soldiers and Sailors Monument.

The International Festival: celebrates the unique ethnic and cultural heritage of central Indiana. Cultural booths show off authentic foods, crafts, music and dance.

December
 

New Year’s Eve: is the biggest party night of the year in this city with events happening all over. Interestingly, one of the biggest parties is at the zoo.
