The overwhelming entity that is the United States, the world’s biggest economy, has cities with relatively recent histories, beautifully varied landscapes of forests and deserts, and hotel rooms of most types in most areas. Find some at HotelTravel.com.

As the world's leading cultural and economic force, the United States offers something for every one who comes into it.. There really is no place on Earth that offers the staggering variety of landscape, climates, people, commerce and culture that the US does. Most people already know what to expect when they arrive to visit, but are awed even so. There’s nothing to compare to the grandeur of the Grand Canyon, the majesty of the Niagara Falls or the poignancy of Mt. Rushmore.
Accommodation is readily available for all budgets and tastes. The largest hotels in the world can be found in Las Vegas, while a wide range of accommodation from luxury to budget is on offer most everywhere. Even the cheapest hotels supply a good standard of living. The service and facilities provided at high-end hotels are among the best in the world.
Home to some 300 million people spread across 9.83 million square kilometres, the United States is the world’s third largest country by population and by land area. It is also one of the world's most ethnically diverse nations, the product of large-scale immigration from many countries.
This melting pot of culture is exemplified in the wide range of cuisines, prices and ways one goes about eating it. There are fast-food chains, posh restaurants and trendy cafes nearly everywhere you go, while in large cities, you can find any kind of cuisine from around the world.
With more history than the country gives itself credit for, the United States was formed by an incredibly disparate population who, with little in common apart from a desire to choose their own way of life, collaborated the ideals of the Declaration of Independence to build the most inventive and most powerful country in the world.

Located almost 100 kilometres north of the Mexican border and 190 kilometres southeast of Phoenix, Tucson is a typical Arizona city in terms of its desert landscapes and hot, dry climate. With Spanish, Mexican and Native American influences, it also has an interesting cultural background and its contemporary environment is equally multi-ethnic.

California
From balmy beaches to winter wonderlands, from lunar desert landscapes to mighty Redwood forests, California offers something for the entire family. You can stand among trees 1,000 years old, fly a Chinese kite in Golden Gate Park, ride the rapids where gold was discovered in Gold Country, get your picture taken with Mickey Mouse at Disneyland, people-watch at Venice Beach, pet a baby cheetah at the San Diego Zoo, take a ride under King Kong at Universal Studios, or tour Hearst Castle in San Simeon.
With such an expanse of land and variety of cultures, America’s festivals are endless. Practically any day of the year you can find a festival somewhere. The following are but a few.

Cities
The USA has some fabulous cities, the most famous being the Big Apple of New York on the east coast and the Golden Gate of San Francisco on the west. Yet there are plenty of other cities worth visiting such as the non-stop fun in Las Vegas, the Hollywood glamour and Disneyland magic in Los Angeles, the excitement in Miami, the history in Boston, the patriotism in Washington DC, the cowboys of Dallas, and the tropical escape in Honolulu, Hawaii. From coast to coast, America offers a taste of everything.
Air
The US has hundreds of international airports. Therefore, please see individual city guides for more specific information.

Banking hours are generally Monday-Friday 09:00-15:00, with some banks open on Saturday. Shopping hours vary greatly. Shopping centres stay open late seven days a week. Independent shops tend to close earlier and close on Sundays.
