Greenville Avenue St Patrick’s Day Parade: the city’s Irish population and everybody else for that matter assemble to celebrate the much endeared patron saint of the Emerald Isle in an event that sees a cross-city parade featuring floats and live entertainment along the way.

Dallas Auto Show: car lovers assemble to appreciate the latest trends in motoring and motor vehicles at this annual event which is held at the Dallas Convention Centre.

New Vintage Wine Festival: 15 to 16 April held in the Grapevine Historic District, this outdoor festival celebrates the local wineries with food and music

USA Film Festival: held around the third week of the month, this event features independent movie productions from America and around the world.

EarthDay Concert: held at Fair Park in the third week of April, this is a popular family event staged to help raise awareness towards ecological issues.

EDS Byron Nelson Championship: held mid month at the Four Seasons Resort, this event sees internationally acclaimed golfers competing for one of the sport’s most coveted trophies.

CityArts Celebration: a weekend-long event that sees a variety of festivities including food tasting and appreciation as well as a variety of activities aimed at children.

Dallas Summer Boat Show: held at Market Hall, this annual event is for fans of seafaring vessels and sees a variety of boats exhibited for the purposes of both sale and just pure appreciation of their beauty.

Women’s Expo: this annual event is held by women for women with advice offered on life subjects such as careers, finances, health and other important topics.

State Fair of Texas: this massive event is held annually at Dallas’ Fair Park and sees literally thousands of visitors attend to see spectacles such as the cow-milking exhibition, the pig racing competition, the auto show and various live music performances.

Pioneer Harvest: held at the Old City Park, this annual event is a celebration of classic Texas traditions that have long been observed in preparation for the winter season. Attractions such as the pie-eating competition and the pumpkin carving contest are big crowd pullers.

NASCAR Races: Head for the Texas Motor Speedway in neighbouring Fort Worth and catch some of the hottest motor-racing action in a series of big races held during the month of November.

Candlelight: this event is held at the Old City Park in a recreation of a classic turn of the century village and is aimed at remembering how citizens of the state lived during this period.
