Chicago enjoys a temperate continental climate which can be extremely variable due to the weather systems connected with Lake Michigan. If you come here anytime other than the summer, packing all types of clothing, warm and cold weather, is advisable. Summer days can also be unpredictable, too but temperature variations are largest in the springtime.
The Old Colony Building dates back to the end of the 19th century and was one of the city's first skyscrapers. You can find the building within the Loop district and you will immediately notice its detailed architecture, including rounded corner bays and its dark facade.
Chinese New Year Parade: is a very popular event in Chicago celebrating the Chinese New Year with gusto along Wentworth Avenue in Chinatown.
For a great perspective of the city from the air, the John Hancock Center offers a spectacular panorama from 1,000 feet with its 94th floor observatory. There is also an open-air sidewalk up here, as well as talking telescopes, which allow for stargazing at night. Phone: +1 312 751 3681
Chicago O'Hare Airport is home to three domestic terminals (soon to be four) and one international terminal (Terminal 5). International flights come into all terminals, despite the 'domestic' title of the other terminals and all are linked by the complimentary Airport Transit System (ATS) rail service.
Essential passenger facilities include cash machines, bureaux de change, medical facilities, pharmacies, post offices, left luggage and lost luggage. Shops, cafes and restaurants can be found throughout the terminals and duty-free shops offer some excellent tax-free products.
