
Martin Luther King, Jr. Birthday Celebration Parade: on 16 January sees the city celebrating the famous civil rights activist with an extravagant parade that commences at the Martin Luther King Boulevard and slowly makes its way across the city. Live music, floats and singing are all integral parts of the parade.

Babe Ruth's Birthday: is celebrated on the 6 January and sees the city paying homage to the character hailed as its greatest sporting hero. Festivities are conducted at the Babe Ruth Birthplace and Museum.

Wedding on Ice: is held on Valentine’s Day and sees married couples assemble at the Inner Harbour Ice Rink to renew their vows to one another in a romantic and officially-recognised ceremony.

Baltimore’s East Coast Jazz Festival: is held mid-month and is an event sponsored by the Fish Middleton Jazz Scholarship Fund in which young jazz musicians gather to showcase their talents in the hope of receiving the coveted festival title.

The Antique Bottle Show and Sale: is hailed as biggest event of this nature on the Atlantic coast. The show is held in Towson at the Community College of Baltimore County's Essex Campus.

Baltimore’s St Patrick Parade: sees its Irish residents or those of Irish descent, pay tribute to the famous saint with a giant parade across the city which commences at North Charles Street and finishes at Pratt Street.

The Baltimore Jewish Film Festival: sees the local Jewish (and non-Jewish) community gather to view movie productions made by Jewish producers or with predominantly Jewish themes.

The Baltimore Waterfront Festival and Volvo Ocean Race: is an annual affair at which a variety of events with maritime themes are billed. The schedule invariably includes boat races, seafood cooking demonstrations and displays of classic or unusual vessels.

The annual Baltimore Blues Festival: is held in Paterson Park and is an event renowned for presenting a variety of blues-related spectacles. Live music is of course right at the top of the agenda while the trading of instruments, classic records and memorabilia is also a big reason that many attend.

The Preakness Crab Derby: is an unusual event that sees feisty crab specimens competing against one another in a variety of different races with differing courses and obstacles. None of the crabs are harmed during the event and all proceeds raised are given to the local charities that own them.

The Summer Concert Series: is an event in which local bands get together to give viewers a sample of their talents in a series of live concerts which are sponsored by Planet Hollywood.
Showcase of Nation's Ethnic Festivals: sees the city celebrate its ethnic diversity and the contributions made to its culture by its variety of ethnic communities with an event that sees lives music, dancing and crafts alongside ethnic food. The event is held at a variety of venues across the city.

Artscape: held on Baltimore’s Mount Royal Avenue, sees a series of stages are erected on which performances in genres such as music, dancing, drama and comedy are conducted. Food and drink is readily available. Expect large crowds at this popular Baltimore event.
Harbourplace's Birthday Celebration: sees the city of Baltimore celebrate what is undoubtedly one of the most significant aspects of its past and present with a giant party that includes live music and the ceremonial cutting of a giant birthday cake.

The German Festival: sees the residents of the city of Baltimore get together to acknowledge and pay tribute to contributions made to local culture by its German community. The event has traditional German music and entertainment accompanied by German beer and food.

The Baltimore Book Festival: is held towards the end of the month and is a celebration of literary works old and new from across the globe. Visitors can expect to hear poetry readings as well as excerpts from classic novels. Cookbook demonstrations are also given by the authors of such works.

The Baltimore Irish Festival: is the second biggest event for the Gaelic community of the city and sees a variety of festive goings-on, all of which are aimed at celebrating its Irish history and heritage. Irish dancing, music with traditional Irish pipes and food stalls are among the regulars at this event.

The Taste of Baltimore: is a must for anyone with interests in food fare. Over 70 of the city’s restaurants take part, producing delicious food which is made available for tasting at the pavilion in Oriole Park.

Thanksgiving: is celebrated on 19 November with a giant parade across the city in which floats and bands makes their way through the downtown area to the delight of the city’s resident and visiting population.

The Washington Monument Lighting Ceremony: officially marks the beginning of the holiday season and sees a variety of spectacles including a magnificent firework display and various performances by local choirs. Refreshments are provided free for all attendees.
