 New Year Tree Show
Each winter, the Ukraine Palace hosts traditional New Year Tree shows, which are Christmas concerts for kids. Games, costume competitions, singing and dancing also happen before the main concert.

Taras Shevchenko Day This public holiday honours the birthday of the great Ukrainian poet Taras Shevchenko with events around Kyiv.

Kyiv Days

 Koktebel International Jazz Festival
This jazz festival brings a number of world-class musicians from around the world to perform a series of concerts at venues around the city.
Trance Festival
Each year, the youthful and energetic descend on Kazantip to indulge in Ukraine’s biggest dance party.
Genoese a helmet
This international festival of knightly fencing is held each year in the town of Sudak. It’s an interesting glimpse at a martial art of the past.

Odessa Jazz Carnival
Another in Ukraine’s jazz calendar brings a collection of great jazz musicians to the city of Odessa for a series of concerts.

 Molodist International Film Festival
This annual event takes place in Kyiv and brings film directors from around the world to premier their latest works over the course of one week.
December
Saint Nicolas Day
Traditionally, Ukrainians exchange gifts on 19 December, which is the day that honours the popular Saint Nicolas, who lived in the 4th century in Turkey.

For Ukrainians, Christmas is the most important family holiday of the year. It is celebrated solemnly, but also merrily, according to the traditions that have been passed down over the generations.
