Long-distance coaches run from Istanbul and Ankara to Kusadasi every day, taking about nine hours. Ulusoy is considered one of the better coach companies. You can also use Turkey’s train network to get to Selcuk, which is 20kms from Kusadasi, then grab a taxi or minibus connection.

Kusadasi’s old town is best covered on foot, but to get anywhere outside of this core you’ll need to use the local public transport. Local dolmuses (minibuses), which hold up to 15 passengers, are a good choice as they run in a loop along the beach road and into town, passing most hotel and tourist destinations. Yellow taxis are another option and are easily hired for any purpose.

Visitors can also rent scooters or a car to better explore the surrounding beaches and countryside. There are car hire shops all around town. Bicycles also offer a fun way to cruise around the town or along the coast, just be wary of the traffic.
