Le Paradis Boutique Resort and Spa (Formerly Princess Village Resort) is hidden amongst Samui's famous coconut trees, lush green foliage and colourful bougainvillea on Chaweng Beach. Le Paradis Boutique Resort and Spa is most travellers ideal of a perfect island retreat. Adding to the picturesque old style setting, ox carts are decoratively filled with colourful plants and coconuts.
The Paradis has only 26 rooms with twelve of them being traditional Thai Teak Houses. These Teak Houses are build on stilts and have recently been refurbished from the inside giving them a modern look with a traditional feel. Vegetation is all around ensuring privacy to the guests. The Thai style villas are more spacious and on ground level, these rooms are nicely decorated in a traditional Thai style.

Beautiful place, beachfront bungalows are more like ocean view but still beautiful. The only reason we would not stay here again is due to the amount of garbage on the beach. Although I was prepared for this, we were still very surprised at the amount. It is unbelievabe that at $300 per night and the number of "leaf sweepers" on property, that one worker would not rake the garbage along the water line away once or twice per day. Some properties clearly did and it was very noticable. Le Paradis rakes the sand halfway down toward the water so that their tables on the beach are surrounded b...

The stay was fine until the day before my departure. I had friends coming to pick me up for diner and the security gate staff and the lady receptionnis would not let me go out of the hotel unless I clear my bill !!! This was pretty stupid as I was going to leave the next morning and not before and I would pay my bill on departure. I have never seen the manager while I stayed there, the staff was good except the unprofessional receptionnist ! I've stayed in many different hotels in Thailand and other countries in Asia but never had this problem before. Therefore I don't recommend this hotel and next time I go to Ko Samui I'll stay somewhere else !

Le Paradis rakes the sand halfway down toward the water so that their tables on the beach are surrounded by sand but the water's edge had bottles, wrappers, shoes, and the plastic ends of hypodermic needles( saw two!) without the sharp ends attached, thank goodness. There were pieces of glass occasionally and you had to be very cautious walking down the beach.
Front desk staff were very gracious yet missed calling us for a wake up call and could not give us advice as to a place for a manicure or for a popular excursion "Mr. Ung's Safari Adventure" - highly recommended. Blue Stars kayaking was also a great excursion.
Free internet, fabulous breakfasts, very few mosquitoes, small but nice pool with good loungers and umbrellas. One thing we learned was to ask for lattes as all coffee in Thailand (other than Starbucks, coffee world etc.) is Nescafe instant. Tea is obviously a more obvious choice but we missed a good morning coffee.
If leaving before breakfast for a flight or an excursion, you may ask for a take out breakfast the night before and a freshly prepared breakfast is delivered. Amazing fruit selections, fresh juices, eggs to order etc.
Beachfront houses are small, yet fine for two people. Don't leave open sweets as tiny ants will appear (didn't see them otherwise). Showers do leak onto the bathroom floor, push the bathmat up and lots of cupboard/drawer space for clothes and suitcases in the bathroom.
Town was busy but not overly, made for interesting browsing at night.
One thing of note, the one time we ate at Le Paradis which gets excellent reviews, our food was so-so. Scallop ceviche was a raw scallop served in a dollop of avacado nicely presented but tasted as you would expect. Seafood linguini? was o.k. A salad I had was good.
Fresh juices, tea, coffee, fruit and cookies served by the pool each day. Didn't use the spa but were offered 15 min free massage coupons to use. One hour massage on the main street were appx. 8-10 Canadian dollars. 45 minute foot massages - 250 baht is standard
( about 8 dollars) Went to a place called High Class which was good.
Rambling review but info I would be interested in!!!
Enjoy your trip.
