Rated #23 for all Koh Samui hotels
This was my third stay in the Iyara. I would not look past this hotel. It has every thing with excellent staff. The location is ideal also. The Bedrooms on the Street side can be quite noisy in the mornings. All other rooms are fine! Its a must for your holiday in Samui. ...

The location was very good with the hotel located in the center of activity. As it was situated well back from the main street there was no unwelcome noise late at night. The hotel grounds extended right down to the sandy beach area.
The main area of disappointment was in the standard of the room and en-suite area. It was quite dated and badly in need of refurbishing. With this change my rating of the hotel would be greatly enhanced.

We stayed in a cabana, which was very nice. The only problem was that the noise carried between cabanas as most of them a joined to another one to allow families to stay in two joined cabanas. However, that is as far as our complaints go. The staff were really good right from the moment we arrived. The pool was always a nice temperature and clean. Buffet breakfast each morning was good. The beach in front of the hotel is not that great in the morning, but the tide comes in before lunch to give it a nice atmosphere. Water clarity is OK in front of the hotel. The problem is that it is in a lagoon area. If you walk five minutes down the beach, you will get better water quality. Down there the waives are bigger but water quality seemed better. However, saying that, I had plenty of swims in front of the hotel and didn't consider it dirty. I am comparing it to the Maldives, which is a whole new level. Restaurants and massage places are close-by. I recommend the Thai massage just over the road from the hotel or the oil massage on the beach was also good. We walked along the main street for about 10mins each night for dinner. Nice place called Chilli's which has good seafood and Thai food. Overall, we had a good experience at this hotel and would think very seriously about staying here again on our next trip to Koh Samui.

I got a great deal for a decent hotel. I think I personally was looking for a little more luxurious place but you get what you paid for. The towels were old and did not seem very clean. The service was very slow. I was checked in to my room where there were no towels. When I asked for towels I was advised there would be an hour or more wait.

We stay for 6 days and we upgrade our superior room to Iyara Studio room in the second floor with sea view. We recommend to pay a litle more and make a reservation for a sea view room. Everything was perfect. Next time we are going to stay in the same hotel.

Koh Samui was wonderful as always and returning back and staying for the first time at the Iyara Beach Resort & Plaza was an excellent choice. The warm and friendly staff always having a "can do" attitude combined with the relatively new hotel combining a mix of Thai architecture with modern asthetics made for a great stay. The hotel is within walking distance of all attractions and the beach front gives the feel of a private beach with very few people which is made up primarily of hotel guests. So you dont get the feeling of Uncle Tom snooping into your privacy whether your are sun bathing or just taking a dip in the sea. The hotel with the tasty food especially the "Fresh Onion Soup" makes for a nice stay whether you go with your partner or include the children as well. The plaza with the Outlet Malls also have some good bargains to offer.

The hotel is maintained very well. Decoration is very clean and makes the room very pleasent. The location is excellent, very helpul staff and a very relaxing holiday. Beach is in a gret location, the spas have very friendly staff. Not in the center but just a few steps from center no need of transportation. I recomended this hotel, my friends will stay there at the end of november.
