Very good hotel with a good location on Bophut Beach just near the Fisherman's village. Room and accomodations are excellent, staff is very helpful and went out of their way to be nice to us and make our stay more comfortable. Buffet breakfast was great too - varieties of thai, japanese, chinese, and western food. Hotel restaurants and bars are pricy but beyond expectation. Spa is outstanding but a little bit expensive for Thailand. I'll definitely recommend this hotel and I will try the other Anantara hotels is Hua Hin or Golden Triangle! Tian Ho heng, Singapore
The "Thai fortress-like" entrance, lobby and gardens with lotus ponds were charming and tranquil. However, rooms were cramped - giving one the impression of too many rooms being squeezed into the site. Ants visited our complimentary fruit basket after a few hours, and the seams of the screen between the shower and bedroom leaked. Housekeeping staff were excellent and anticipated our needs, but the frontdesk and restaurant staff lacked true friendliness. The feeling was that the guest was simply being patronised. The beach was clean, except for the occasional piece of broken glass! There was also no free usage of non-motorised watersports. I am a fan of the "small luxury hotels of the world" and have stayed in several of them....but somehow, the Anantara Loh Samui disappoints. Simon Smith, United Kingdom
A lovely quiet hotel outside the frantic area. Fantastic design and relaxed atmosphere. Recommended. But a distance into anywhere 'interesting'. A HotelTravel.com Member, Hong Kong
