in middle of chwang beach ,banks baht bus 2 min walk away,internet cafes
staff very helpfull,help plan your trips,what to see
lotus tesco up the road ,cheap food,supplys and cinema,100 baht a film
big c too,both good food cafes,thai/english,i use every day
chwang got lot girly bars,over the bridge,over side of lake,by bob marly disco
walk or baht bus 10 mins
nice spot on the island,sort of capital ,bigger tham lamai,but same...

The rooms were on the small side but cosy and clean, I have no complaints at all for the price paid. There's no safe deposit box in the room but you can leave your valuables at the reception area (they have lockers there). The staff were friendly and very helpful.
The breakfast provided was standard, nothing to complain or rave about. The location is right in the middle of Chaweng so it was really easy to go out for meals, walkabouts etc. Due to the proximity to the nighlife/clubs, thumping music can be heard in the room at night but I slept through it all. Some may have problems with this as it can be quite loud. Didn't use any hotel facilities (don't think they have any!).
Overall, very satisfied because I had wanted to stay in the middle of Chaweng, not expensive and just have somewhere clean to sleep. Al's Hut fits the bill.

We stayed here for 5 nights and I would say in my opinion we had the best part of beach infront of us compared to other hotels, we had no trouble with noise, it was very secure with security gaurds wandering around, the staff were great. The rooms certainly are not luxury but they were comfortable and had everything we needed they are just very small thats all. Our friends had an ant problem in their bathroom which was probably the biggest negative. we only ate here once and chose to try other places, we did have breakfast each morning and there was plenty to choose from but stick to eggs if you want whats fresh!! All in all we had a pleasent stay at Als Huts and would return again without hesitation and Koh samui was my favourite part of our thailand holiday. Oh and the Als huts massage girls are great too !!

Fantastic location on beach and in centre of Chewang Road. Definitely value for money plus clean, friendly, safe...air conditioned, huge bed, fresh sheets every day. Small but meets all your needs. Good breakfast area looking onto beach; also very quiet. Wish it had a pool, even a small one - apart from that it fitted all our needs; would definitely return.

Charming place with perfect location! Quiet but still right in the middle of everything. You can hear the planes quite well when the pass just over the place for take off and landing but it's not that many a day and I didn't find it disturbing. We wanted to stay a couple of days more but the price was 1800 thb when you booked direct at the reception!! It is a very popular place and almost allways full. I absolutely recommend this place!
