Ao Prao Resort is a good choice for those wanting to escape the hustle and bustle of staying in either Bangkok or Pattaya yet close enough to both cities to be convenient. Not only that, but it is perfect for those looking for 'home-away-from-home' accommodation that are travelling on a low budget and want to be on the coast.

Rated #4 for all Rayong hotels
Beautifully furnished. High quality. Not exactly a cottage as was advertised, but still fabulous. Great bathroom/shower. Beautiful place. No swimming pool, but it is right on a secluded and semi-private beach. The friendliest and efficient service I have ever seen. Lovely people. Fabulous restaurant/dining room. Great food. Secluded-for a quiet holiday. Calm, tranquil, away from it all. Very good value for its price....

the hotel is quiet and confortable but there is a problem for the beach which is very dirty and not cleaned up by the hotel we can find bottles , plastic bags ,papers etc there is also an another point to be noted. The hotel is far away from entertainment and shops in this area there is nothing to do except beach and simming pool. The sea is also a little bit agitated in this area.

Location is gorgeous: secluded bay, white sand, palm-trees, warm water, bungalows scattered in a jungle-like garden. I highly recommend bungalow/junior suite number 200: directly on the beach and good privacy at the same time. Go eat at the small open-air restaurant with the umbrellas with frog-shaped bases: great view and best thai food of the bay with ridiculously low prices (5 times cheaper than in the resort restaurants).

Excellent experience, felt like royalty from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. Only bad part is the hotel restaurant which is very over-priced and has very average service at best. We needed to order several times both times we ate there as they kept mixing up our orders and forgetting parts of our meal, then made us feel as if we had asked for too much. Much better restaurant at the next hotel over, excellent service and extremely tasty food! Also it's not really apparent that the cost of the ferry over to the island and back is including in the room price. Beautiful views from the room, outstanding beach, great service, would definately go back again in an instant.

This is not the hotel you wanna book when you are looking for entertainment. But if it is peace and a beautiful beach you should go there. The rooms are quite pricy though.

This resort is very remote that you have to take a taxi to the more crowded area. No motorbike rent outside the resort. Come to this place in summer. On rainy season the wave is very high, but the east coast is ok, more comfortable for playing on the beach.

The resort is very nice in lovely quiet bay. It's not luxurious but great for a relaxed holiday. The rooms are really nice. You can go to the 5* resort owned by main company to use their Spa. We had a Junior Suite which are quite a bit bigger than the standard rooms and face the beach. They moved us to a nicer room in a better location when we complained about some noise from a neighbouring bar so they are very helpful. Definitely recommend this place for couples wanting a quiet holiday - there really isn't much to do at night but you can get a taxi to the liverlier beach. We stayed for 7 nights and didn't get bored at all but only go if you want to relax in lovely surrounding, not if you want a nightlife!

We just had a wondergful 5 days at Ao Prao and enjoyed every minute, beautiful location and just a very relaxing place, all the staff were so gracious all of the time and so helpful. We stayed in a superior room or bungalow which was serviced evryday with clean sheets etc. I would definately come back to this resort and can highly recommend it.

This is a good place to go if you want somewhere quiet and nice. It's got great beach and since it faces west, you can also expect fantastic sunset. Depending on the season, however, transparency of the sea may not be crystal clear, though it's still clear enough.
