If you want to be where it is all happening then this is the place to stay. However if you want peace and quiet this place is not for you. Staff are friendly and helpful. As it was my birthday while I was away I received a card and a basket of flowers. Rooms are kept clean and tidy.

No pool bar facility. Hot water system not the best (low pressure). Other than that was good value for the money paid. Excellent location for entertainment. Buffet breakfast was nice.

This was our second visit to the Tropica and just as great as before. Close to shopping and resturants but right on the beach. Hotel sits back so very little street noise. We highly recommend it.

We like the hotel environment and style which are really tropical. However, the inside decoration of room is a little bit simple compared with outside courtyards, gardens and roads. The room lacks of vividness as it has no green plant, flowers or fresh fregrance.
As this hotel is beside a pub, it's so noisy at night, especailly after 10:00 pm. Even we closed the door and windows, the sound from pub still came to our ears from time to time.
Additionally, as commented by some travellers, the shower water in bathroom is not strong enough or stable. Sometimes it is too hot and sometimes it is not.

Excellent location across the road from beach and a short stroll to Bangla Road and main night life areas.
Rooms comfortable, well air conditioned, cleaned daily with change of bed linen and towels.
All staff extremely polite and friendly. Reception staff very helpful with a good understanding of English.
Pool small but adequate - only downside lack of parasols.
24 hour security with apparent acceptance of unregistered guests.
Overall this is an excellent budget hotel in a central location.

Do expect a value-for-money, trouble-free stay in the very heart of Patong Beach, yet in an amazingly tranquil and secluded garden of individual bungalows. The sheets were clean, the breakfast was good enough and - surprise, surprise - very decent coffee for once!

Extremely noisy location and the rooms are rundown, great place if you are young and aren't planning sleeping at night time. Quiet throughout the day, wouldn't recommend to families or couples, definately for the party people.

The hotel is closer to the beach and provide easy access. The bath-room was of poor standard. Slow running shower, thin pieces of soap, and no hair shampoo provided. Towels were of low quality (thin). For the same rate, I could get better hotel at Bangkok city.

The only thing that was unsatisfactory was the noise in our bangalow at night, we didn't get any sleep as there were night clubs behind us playing their music. Very loud.. Wouldn't recomend if you wanted a quiet and restful holiday.

Location is perfect. Bungalows clean and big enough. Also bathroom. The shower is rather poor and water not strong enough. I also have my doubts regarding water quality. Bungalows near Bangla Road not recommendable for people who like to go sleep early. Secure area? Yes, but next Tsunami may hit the Hotel again, since it's very near the beach. Overall, Value for money is excellent.
