my wife and i stayed at kata beach resort and spa , it was our first trip to Thailand and wont be our last !! the hotel was beutifull. the staff were freindly and very helpfull nothing was too much bother and they went out of their way to make everything as easy as possible , the room was exelent with views over the pool and beach ,breakfast was the best meal of the day with so many choices of food it was hard to make up our minds what too eat next !!so it is with great pleasure that i recommend this resort to anyone who wants a holiday that will stay with them forever !!!

On check-in reception staff could not find our reservation, when they eventually found it, they had no room ready for us this was at 12.30, we were told to wait an hour for our room, when we came back to reception at 2pm there was still no room ready for us, we had been travelling through the night from Australia, staff had very poor understanding of english. I was put in a smoking room the first night. It was an ok room except for the smell. The next morning they moved me. I was in probably the best room in the place. Huge picture windows (yes, plural) on fourth floor overlooking Kata Beach...from one end to the other, and the pool. It was also a smoking room...not the residual smell however. How could I complain? Room service fast...but awful! I ate one dinner at the hotel...steak night...It was very disappointing. Not much choice of decent food on the buffet, as well as the most expensive meal I had during my stay. Breakfast the normal fare...and lots of choice. It was fresh too. Spa services are over-priced and under performing. This would be acceptable in a budget hotel, but not in a rated 4 star hotel at the price level they charge. The hotel's location is good and the beachfront is welcome.Room is ok but the washroom and shower could have been bigger. Breakfast menu was the same for the three days that we stayed there. They could have a station where we can get Thai noodles or local delicacies. Hotel should give hotel guests good offers for its Spa. My wife and I went instead to a couple of SPAs nearby which gave a one-for-one promotions. Hotel was nicely situated where shopping, restuarants and massage/SPAs are just outside the gates. WE had a nice holiday but could not make trips to Phi Phi island due to bad weather. Overall, it wasa good holiday.Hotel Facilities

The fitness center was the only disappointment. There was a very poor variety of equipment and what was there was in bad repair. This needs attention if they want my business again. The staff was so very helpful and professional at all times. Outstanding service! The pool area was great as was the bar colocated there. The spa was superb and worth every Baht. The staff there do so much to make you feel incredible. The room service menu needs to be expanded and be available 24 hours, this could include local menus from restaraunts that would deliver to the resort.
