We loved our stay at Kamala Beach. The rooms are average, but very clean. The only complaint we really have was the shower. There was barely any water pressure in the shower and the water didn't smell too nice. The hotel staff was very helpful and spoke English extremly well! The breakfast was great. Lots of differnt food to choose from and it was very good. The hotel is only a 20 minutes shuttle ride to Patong for some lively entertainment. Kamaly Beach was nice and quiet, just the right amount of people. WE would definatly stay at Kamala Beach Hotel again....

We visited during low season so most beach restaurants were closed. It was fortunate that the hotel restaurant served decent Thai food for lunch and dinner at reasonable prices. Breakfast was average however - some things cooked well but some others badly. Coffee of the percolated kind was not to the likings of any family members.
The kids' pool appeared dirty and the adults who accompanied into the pool were bitten by some tiny insects (could be sea lice?). The bites were still itching a few days after return from Phuket. Excessive chlorine was also poured into the kids' pool (we could smell the strong chlorine ordour) resulting in a skin reaction with one of the family's child.
A couple and their kids in our family had to move after the toilet blocked twice. The water pressure from the basin tap was extremely low. Shower water pressure was fine.
Rooms were clean if a little tired. There are no fly screens on the sliding door to the balcony so it was not possible to get any sea breeze in the room as the mosquitoes would fly in.
I found it annoying that the tissue box was only replenished with around 10 pieces of tissue (for 3 sharing a room!) each day and we always ran out. Shampoo and bath foam liquid was also a top up job, not new bottles.
Most hotel workers were polite and nice except for a couple who were a bit surly.

I was not happy as they charged me for the accidental breakage of a glass in the bathroom. The charges for return transfer to the airpot from this resort are twice what they are to get a metered taxi from the airport!! 350 bhat from the airport - 650 baht to return - there are NO meter taxis available from this hotel or this resort I know this has caused problems for other visitors to this hotel and resort. I feel alot of things in this hotel are done as cheaply as possible - particularly with regard to the quality of food. The gym looked very poor - coudn't see how one gained access and there did not appear to be anybody on duty. They seemed to have staff doing all sorts of jobs - the girl who checked me in I later saw cleaning the floors!! Great spot right on the beach and away from any traffic - move further down the beach for beds which are spaced out and more private - an extra charge for this. Fruit selection was disappointing for thailand - I've visited the country many times before and the quality and selection was the poorest I've ever seen. cheese on the breakfast buffet was rubbery, cheap anchor cheddar - no other variety offered. Pastries too very poor quality, obviously from a poor quality, mass produced source!!
The taxi transfer back to the airport was my main complaint as outlined previously

I booked two deluxe sea view rooms, but the location of the rooms were terrible, in a small separate house right on the parking lot. The rooms were very noisy because of the cars and all the cargo of the hotel. We asked a later check out with 30 minutes, but they wanted us to pay an extra 1000 Baths/room.
