William from United States stayed in a Ocean front deluxe for 5 days.
We spent five nights in January 2006 at the Dusit Laguna Resort and were impressed with the expansive grounds extending to the lovely beach with plenty of lounge chairs both along the beach and in the shady areas in the lush gardens. The food at the various restaurants was delicious and those serving us were gracious. Our ocean front room was lovely with plenty of storage. The Dusit Laguna truly is a top class hotel and we look forward to returning some day in the near future. We took some great full day tours and found Phuket recovering nicely from the tsunami and hope tourists will..
Please be patient…

Des from Australia stayed in a Deluxe seaview for 4 days.
We had an amazing time at the Dusit Thani Phuket. We were greeted by such friendly staff and made feel so very welcome. We were upgraded to a fantastic room. You can do as much or as little as you want here. We did lots of relaxing around the pool, on the beach, elephant ride and boat trip. We felt like we were the king and the queen for the four days we spent there! Would definately recommend it and would definately go back again!Hotel Facilities

Even though they were remodeling a building, the Dusit still was an enjoyable stay- we had a 3 yr old and a baby with us and the young kids loved the lagoon ferry, the open-air bus, etc. The kids club and playground are in a great location with an ocean view, so I would definitely recommend this resort for young children! The couples seemed to have a nice time as well.Hotel Facilities

Thank you very much for this opportunity. Our stay at the Dusit was really outstanding in every aspect .... the staff was clearly five star quality and so was the service and accommodation. It was money well spent to stay at the Dusit Thani. It will defnitely not be that last time that we will stay there. Thank you once again for a problem free and stress free time at your Resort. I will most definitely recommend the Resort to my friends.Hotel Facilities

We arrived at 5pm with our 3 children. The staff were friendly. However, we had paid for deluxe sea view rooms which were interconnecting. These were not available and we were shown some very ordinary rooms overlooking the air conditioning units of the beach resataurant. After some discussion we were upgraded to interconnecting club rooms tha had been recently refurbished,we were very pleased with this outcome and we thank the hotel for this.Hotel Facilities

We had a wonderful stay and only wish we could have been there longer. All of the staff that we encountered were both compotent courteous. We also appreciated the room upgrade and the afternoon tea time. Our only complaint was that the wall mounted remote control panel in the room was very difficult to see -- though it was a convenient concept.Hotel Facilities

I was at Dusit Laguna in Mid August for 5 days for family holiday with 2 kids age 5 and 3. Hotel is right on the beach in the Laguna Resorts in Bang Tao beach. Overall, it was a nice stay. The resort ground is beautiful, and many activities at the hotel. My kids enjoyed the kids club for 2-3 hours a day. Although they were the only ones there, they were occupied and enjoyed all the craft and beach activites. The only down side of this hotel was, the Thai restaurant in the hotel was overpriced and not very good. Restaurants on the beach, Tom Yum Goong (in front of Laguna Beach Hotel) was very good, and Lotus ( near Sheraton) was even better at fraction of the hotel restaurant prices. They even have pickup service. If you want to relax and eat, without the night life, this is a good choice for the price.Hotel Facilities

Beautiful lobby and very efficient and pleasant reception area; the traditional Thai courtesy blends well with the hotels calm and uncrowded features and makes staying here a real pleasure. Claire from United Kingdom stayed in a Ocean front deluxe for 6 days.
A lovely hotel in beautiful grounds, real luxury. The only downside is that it is much more expensive for food and drink than usual 'Thai' rates and you have to go some distance to pay the lower usual prices. There are some bars and restaurants along the beach but most have been affected by the tsunami and it was low season so were not all open. The cocktail party was good, dont miss it! It was also too dangerous to swim in the sea due to the rip tides in low season, but the pool was lovely.Hotel Facilities

Overall, an excellent quiet family holiday venue. Location superb, staff extremely helpful. Restaurants and facilities very good. In our opinion by far The best in the lagoon with direct access to the beautifully clean beach. Only minor drawback kettle/tea making facilities in the bathroom - health and safety? We would certainly return to the Dusit Laguna and would recommend the resort to our friends/family.Hotel Facilities

There should be air conditioning in the bathrooms. Although I was aware the Italian restaurant was closed, I did not know that the fitness centre was also closed. The area was safe and secure, but a major drawback is the lack of activities if the weather is not good. Once the tour around the Laguna complex is complete, if you want to go elsewhere on the island, without hiring a car, the cost is ridiculous - 800+ baht per person. To take a taxi from the hotel 500 metres up the road to the local shops is a minimum 100baht. Although very cheap, if you are in a taxi in Bangkok, you would be in it for an hour before it cost you 100 baht! The Laguna complex seems to cater well for Corporate conferences, but they need to do considerable work to woo the general public. I was told that the hotels in Patong were averaging 70% occupancy, and the Laguna hotels 17% when we were there mid September.Hotel Facilities

Thomas from Germany stayed in a Deluxe for 3 days.
The hotel is part of a huge conglomerate of similarly over-priced hotels catering mainly to western tourists and their families. It may be a good choice if one really intends to just get stuck in a club hotel compound for two weeks taking advantage of the hotel's admittedly impressive range of watersports activities. There a large private beach. But to get into Phuket Town or to other beaches one s to solely rely on sporadic shuttle services, which are charged to the bill extra depending on the desired destination. Another method to leave this golden cage is to ask the concierge for assistance in calling an invariably outrageously priced taxi from outside. The so-called "village" close to the main entrance of the hotel compound features a myriad of shops and some food outlets, but seems to be owned and operated by the hotel itself. Needless to say that prices are ridiculously high. There are several restaurants in the hotel itself. But I was really disappointed with the Thai restaurant. Every single dish I ordered was too sweet; obviously a concession to western taste and a sheer rape of Thai cuisine. There is an atmospheric seafood restaurant right on the beach where one can dine under the stars while the waves are washing around one's feet. But again, the food, while fresh and nicely prepared, is outrageously expensive. The same goes for the lobby bar. The hotel's architecture is imposing and the entire complex is surrounded by lush, carefully manicured gardens complete witHotel Facilities

A perfect location next to the beach, the swimming pool is very large and no problems getting beds even though the hotel was nearly full. Excellent food choices and a great place to relax.
