My wife and I had an excellent time staying at the Access Resort and Spa. An excellent resort for a honeymoon or 2nd honeymoon. The rooms were very nice and the pool access was wonderful. Our only critisism was that the beds were hard - which we found typical across hotels in Thailand. Its location ois a bit ouit of the way, however we found taxis and rental motor bikes as great solutions. KAron Beach is so much cleaner and nicer than Patong and its not far from Kata which is absolutelly excellent....

The Hotel is located about 15 minutes walk from Karon beach. There was a scheduled shuttle bus service to Karon beach twice a day.
The pool was good, but a little bit small (or narrow) to really "swim".
The staffs were very nice, but our requests were often forgotten.
(It was not too bad. e.g. If they don't bring you room-service beverages,
you can purchase it at the bar. It's just a 30 sec. walk from the room.)
The food in the hotel was excellent, and had enough variety to choose.
The price was quite reasonable for eating in the hotel restaurant.
You can watch any of major TV programmes in your room. (CNN, BBC, ZDF, NHK and so on)
The internet connection was easy to set up and had minimum but enough security care.
Tuk-tuk drivers usually don't know the hotel, but the hotel staff will give you a small card which indicates the location of the hotel.
If you don't need to swim in the sea every day, and you love pool, then it's worth staying at the Access Pool Resort.

This hotel was a great choice. The staff were respectful and freindly, especially the bar/restaurant staff who tried as hard as any person could to ensure we enjoyed each and every dish and each and every drink. The grounds are very well planned and maintained. the rooms good, and the pool!! well the name says it all. We accessed the pool continually. We enjoyed every moment of the time we had in this hotel and plan to return as soon as we can. We celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary by enjoying a very well made cocktail(s), an enjoyable meal, great service and of course great company at our table for two. All set beside the ctrystal clear waters of the main pool area. We would not have change that setting for anything. We have only one small regret, and that is that we were questioned about a towel that was missing on our departure. The simple case was the towel was not replaced a day earlier, but we ignored that fact, such was the time we were having. Overall, a little pearl. Everyone should try this hotel, just once at least.
