Phi Phi Island is accessible only by boat or ferry. These services depart daily from both Krabi town and Phuket. If you are going to be going to Phi Phi Island from Krabi, your best bet is to make your way to the jetty in central Krabi town located at the Chaofa Ship-berth, Khongkha Road, where you will be able to catch a ferry directly to Phi Phi Island itself. These ferries run twice daily. The trip takes about 2 hours from Krabi town to Phi Phi stopping at Ao Nang and/or Railei beach en-route.

Long-tails boats to Railei beach and Ao Nang, Krabi, also depart from this jetty on a 'leave when full' basis, during the day.
If you are visiting Phi Phi from Phuket, there is only one ferry departure time and boats leave in the morning at 8.30 a.m. from the Deep Sea Port near Phuket Town. It is a good idea to get to the ferry terminals at least half an hour before departure.

If you miss the last ferry there are private speed-boats that will take you to the island from Phuket, the prices however, will be substantially higher.
On your arrival at Phi Phi Island you may have to take a local boat (long-tail) to your hotel if on a beach other than the main resort strip. These are to be found along the same stretch of beach where you disembark from the ferry on Phi Phi Island

By air The Krabi Airport is situated on the Phetkasem Highway just outside Krabi town. The airport operates flights from Bangkok to Krabi as well as to other destinations such as Phuket. After you have landed in Krabi or Phuket, you then must take a boat to the Phi Phi Islands. For more information contact the Krabi Airport.
