Because of low season the breakfast was very simple. Only a few people were capable in comunicating in English, but nice view to the enviroment and perfect local bar at the other side of the street. Would go there again without doubt. Highlights on walking distance.

The room was clean and comfortable. The Rooks was a nice hotel in a quiet setting. The staff were friendly and the food was great. They have a nice swimming pool and lovely gardens. They had nice facilities, a nice, large dining room and breakfast was served on a large terrace overlooking the pool. The location isn't central but it's a short walk away from the "center" of town. It's nice and quiet. It was definitely the best bet in Mae Hong Son.

Traditionally it was celebrated by Buddha images being bathed with water and the showing of respect to monks and elders. From the sprinkling of water onto someone’s hands it has evolved into mass drenching for anyone who decides to venture outdoors. This has to be one of the friendliest, though wet, festivals anywhere and a great way to make new friends. Thais celebrate Buddha’s birthday. Local Wats (Buddhist Temples) celebrate by holding candlelit processions. A tourist may take part in these parades and it can prove great fun.
