this was the only hotel with direct access to the beach, but we were rather disappointed with the beach - it's not the white sandy pristine beach as we expected of Thailand beaches (we enjoyed the beach when we visited Phuket & Koh Samui). Plus you get to "enjoy" the beach only when the tide is out, otherwise the tide comes all the way up to the perimeter stone wall of the hotel. all in all, the hotel & our stay was ok - oh, do try the massage by the pool, it's good :)

it needs of a good maintenance, we knew this hotel many years ago but the maintenance should be increased above all the bath room.

Extremely disappointed although the swimming pool was lovely. Had been transfered to this resort from another hotel due to building work there. On arrival very disappointed in the rooms, which were tired and needed a total overhaul especially the bathrooms. The followiong morning my toilet overflowed and the bathroom was flooded. On complaining they sent a man with a plunger - I insisted on moving which they arranged but then found the new room had a defective television. The managmenret wanted to move me a third time (I was only there for three nights in total) but the room they choose had a problem with the drains and the smell was disgusting to I declined to move. All in all very disappointing and would not recommend this to any one.

location strategic - minutes away from shops and restaurants. Enjoyed the seaview. Service good. Considering the price, value for money. Staff are friendly and helpful. Did the extra mile. They specially gave me pineapple, when on request, at breakfast, though it was not on the buffet spread. Strategic location - near shopping and our favourite seafood place Wansai Seafood Restaurant.

I spent a couple nights at Krabi resort in Ao Nang. The type of accommodation I stayed in was a deluxe bungalow garden. For the price I paid, the room was fine. I am led to believe that this hotel is 1 of the oldest in Ao Nang and its starting to show its age as everything is a little dated. The Garden bungalows offer no view as they are relatively tightly packed together separated only by a small path, however if you just want a room and a bed, they are ideal. 1 small grumble was the water for bath/shower could only be described as 'tepid' which was a bit of a let down after a long day exploring the region's beaches and towns. Having said all that, the location was excellent as it's close to the beach and the town centre. The town pier is also very close and in the off peak season this is extremely useful as all the long tail boats leave from here to get to Ao Phra Nang, Railay and Krabi Town. Summary: Ideal/cheap accommodation to spend the nights if you want to explore and be out and about all day. If you are looking to be dazzled by some 5 star resort, you'll have to pay more money to get your choice.
