Rated #35 for all Krabi hotels
When we arrived, we were delighted to find that we were allocated a pool access room that also has a private corner with jacuzzi outside the balcony. Boasting the nicest and biggest swimming pool in all of Ao Nang as claimed, the hotel was exactly as portrayed on its website. The room was spacious and comfortably appointed, and we enjoyed the variety of satellite TV channels available. Breakfast was at the restaurant by the pool and the buffet spread was rather scrumptious. There was even a coffee machine for guests. Front desk staff were helpful and friendly. The pool area was nice but the pool bar and restuarant was very expensive. The room was very average and we expected much better for the price. We were woken up several times by running children above us. Location was good

We stayed here as our first 2 choices were full and had been to Ao Nang previously. Overall rating was fairly good but generally Krabi is overpriced in January (and crowded). This hotel does not have views of the beach or surroundings.. Its main attraction is 3 very large pools. We took the advice of other reviewers, and when we checked in, asked for an upgrade to a pool side room (one was free, paid the 1500B upgrade) and it was great. This provides a patio that has access via steps directly into the pool. Great for kids..
Breakfasts were fine, nothing changes from day to day so by day 5 its a bit same same! Best selection is earlier, as by 9.00am they tend to have run out some foods..
Staff were friendly, airport pickup waiting for us (we did email confirmations direct with hotel for this).
Only quirky thing was the entry gate near the pool that allows easy walking access to Nopparat Thara Beach.. Its locked at night, but during the days, sometimes open; seems u have to ask to have unlocked if you're first out! However..one day its no problems to open, the next.. "cannot". Perhaps they just like us Farangs to do some extra walking!

As usual in Thailand, this hotel does not allow late check out, even though your flight is in the evening. If you are willing to pay a half day room rate for extension, they will provide you. Otherwise, they will reply you that the hotel is fully booked for the day... Oh yes, they are so realistic.... there's hardly any people checking in. They will expect you to wait at the lobby for the whole afternoon instead.
As for the room, the decor is simple, with broken tiles in the bathroom. Water flow is inconsistent, and you will expect water temperature to vary from cold to hot suddenly, or vice versa. What a shock!
As for the swimming pool, it wasn't as great as what you seen in their website. From the comments since last year, it was known that the pool needs some repair on their broken tiles in the pool, however, when I reach in June, i expect it to be repaired, but the hotel simply place some float on top to warn swimmers. The pool is also pretty small.

The room is poorly maintained although conserved something of its original charm. The hotel's pool is great, though.

The hotel's tour counter is a good place to get info and book day tours. Situated at the quiet end of Ao Nang, the hotel is just across the beach. Turn right and walk for 15-20mins and you'll hit Noppharat beach. It is approximately 10-15mins' walk to the main shopping stretch of Ao Nang, as well as to the area where longtail boats leave for Railey. And just outside the hotel, there is an outdoor dining area (only open at night), with several stalls serving cheap and delicious local fare. We had a great stay at Krabi La Playa.
