What Krabi lacks in entertainment it certainly makes up for in restaurants. From Malay food, to pizza's, to American breakfasts and spaghetti, Krabi has it all...within the capital town, Phi Phi and to a certain extent, Koh Lanta...but you may find things 'western' are lacking once you travel to the more rural areas.
Thai food can be bought everywhere. Hardly a street within the province doesn't have at least one small (menu-less) eatery tucked in a dark corner somewhere. For western cuisine, you will find most main roads and the villages along the way will tend to have at least one establishment with a menu in English.
One handy Thai word at all eateries if you aren't particularly fond of hot spicy food, is to learn the words "Mai Phet" (not hot) as if you don't ask, your food may be served Thai style; hot. If you are not the adventurous type when it comes to food, nearly all accommodation complexes have their own restaurants, most of which cater to both Thai and western tastes.

Shopping in Krabi for many is an exciting and pleasurable experience. Here you will find great souvenirs, exquisite silver jewellery, coloured gemstones such as rubies and sapphires and many talented local artists displaying their works. So whether you are shopping for a suit or bargain hunting, looking for that extra special 'something' for someone special back home whatever it is, shopping in Thailand can be fun.

Street vendors often seem to be on every street corner showing you their goods (with a calculator in one hand) from silk scarves, hammocks and sarongs to laser pens etc. If you are interested in any of the wares you find, then it is time to start bargaining, If you are not interested in what is on offer, simply smile and continue on your way.
Haggling is a fun and an expected part of the buying process in Thailand. Remember, that the price listed is only there for show and has no real meaning. There is always room for negotiation. The starting price can often come down to half or less, depending on your haggling skills and those of the vendor. All the time, remember to smile. This is a game, it should be fun. Don’t take it too seriously. The price agreed for the transaction is always a “win-win” price. Both sides benefit.
