Felix River Kwai in Kanchanaburi is perfect for both the business person or for families on holiday. The Felix River Kwai houses west Thailand's largest convention centre and is an excellent venue for business and social functions. Set in manicured gardens, the hotel has much to offer the visitor to this area.

One of the places we've most enjoyed staying at. Beautiful place, friendly and efficient English speaking staff, good restaurant with an English speaking waitor, great pool with a pool bar - everything you need in order to enjoy your stay there. We took the river view rooms and they were great. Great view, wonderful room, well lit, good size, very comfortable. Walking distance from the River Kwai Bridge. On the bank of the river, with great view of it. You can't walk into town, you need some kind of vehicle, but that's easy enough to find. Good restaurant, frienly waitors, English spea...

The Felix is a great place to stay in Kanchanaburi, as it is close to eateries and offers good views of the river Kwai. We absolutely enjoyed our stay and enjoyed the lovely grounds of hotel. It does appear that it is time for a renovation of the rooms, however. We liked our river view room very much. Also, would have liked it if they had reception staff waiting at the entrance, as we were not sure where to go once we arrived and there was no one to help us get our bags out of the car. But on the whole, we would certainly go back for a stay.

Very nice room with good swimming pools. A little bit too resorty and far out from the soul of Kanchanaburi for our liking. Good if you have kids and like a relaxing time.

The staff were extremely friendly, particularly Wan Waan who acted as our guide on a day tour to Hellfire Pass. We would stay again and recommend to anyone.

The gardens and setting of the hotel by the River Kwai is very nice but the location does detract a little by being on the other side of the river and is about 9 kms to Kanchanaburi.

Felix is the best hotel in this town despite some silly remarks in the lonely planet guide which makes the Royal Kawai as something really great. We drove to that hotel and found it most disappointing and were glad to be back to our Felix hotel room a few feet away from the river and a five minutes walk from the Kawai Bridge. The food at the Chinese restaurant was very good. There was a little problem with the light coming through the curtains at night from the lawn and a noisy aircon but the hotel promptly moved us to another room. But as a permanent solution the hotel must do something about the blaring lights outside on the river bank. I don't think they need so many of them for safety! Anyway, this hotel set in very large grounds was a pleasant surprise. We must specially commend the restaurant manager (F&B manager) who was most attentive to every detail and even persoanlly helped with the service.

The owners lovingly take care of this beautiful resort. Lush gardens, fountains, and footpaths make for relaxing surroundings. Spacious rooms with wood floors and tasteful appointments. Huge breakfast selection including omelets made to order. Eat outside on the patio or inside for air conditioning. We will return.

Very convenient for the bridge, great lush pool area and nice walking paths within the compound. As it is a little bit away from other facilities I would have appreciated a better restaurant (however only staid one night so we never tried the Chinese restaurant). If you don't have a car you are kind of stuck at the hotel...

Stayed three nights, could have stayed longer but pre arranged travel plans did not permit it. In general facilities good, the staff were friendly and the pool / grounds were well maintained.. The room was clean and well apponted with a beautiful out look over the river. Walking distance to the bridge, but a boat service from the jetty would have been the finishing touch.

The hotel was super. Location very good, only 100 meters from the bridge over the river kwai. Gardens beautiful, river looked fresh and very clean. Wildlife plentiful. Safe to exercise by foot or bike. There was a great slection of food at the breakfast area but it lacked that excellent Thai taste. My wife found insects and a plastic ring in her soup on 2 occasions I believe there was allot of preservatives in the food. I'm sorry to say but my tummy was very active for 2 days after I left the resort.

Poorly maintained rooms. Fuses continually blowing. Wonderful location of river front foom with large terrace. Elegant rooms but bathrooms a little jaded. No real atmosphere and indifferent staff.

This hotel was excellent in all respects. We had an attractive, spacious room with a beautiful view over the river Kwai. The grounds and the pool were lovely, the restaurants served very good food and the staff were kind and attentive. We chose this hotel for it's peaceful and attractive location and it was easy to get into Kanchanaburi by taxi. We will certainly come again and recommend this lovely hotel to others.

In daylight hours i could find no hotel better, nice walks, beautiful grounds, lovely pools. After dark one of the best things to do is read a book or watch tv. A good hotel for a relaxing holiday and to see the bridge.

Bar and restaurant great with goodmusic in evening. There is nothing I can say that would be negative. Perhaps internet expensive, but what the heck!!!

October 2006 and Felix River Kwai is even better than 2 years ago. Front desk staff much nicer and more efficient. Staff in general terrific. Huge breakfast choices. Great deals for golfers. Shuttle bus service to town, but cheaper local 8/10 seat taxi can be booked. Highly recommended.

Very nice hotel on the outskirts of town. The main swimming pool was closed for painting during our visit, which was a pity. The hotel charges for using many of the facilities, such as tennis, bicycles and the snooker table - these should be free at a resort of this standing.

We had a wonderful room overlooking the river - the staff were courteous, friendly and very helpful. Although the hotel is situated a little out of town, the amenities and peaceful surroundings more than compensated. The hotel shuttle was convenient for getting into town during the day or evening. The bar entertainment in the evenings could have been better. We had planned on staying for 2 days, but ended up staying for a week!! We will be back when we get a chance.
