Excelent rooms & friendly staff made this a good choice for our hotel. Two minute walk from night market, food outlets and entertainment. Rest of Chaing Mai at night only a short, and cheap, tuk tuk ride away. Only 3 star hotel, so 3 star price and facilities, bar, entertainment & etc however excellent room and location makes the Star Hotel an excellent base....

The room was spacious and clean. There was a modern bathroom. The staff was courteous and helpful. However, the biggest negative thing I could say about this hotel is its lack of a decent restaurant. I don't care much about a swimming pool or a lobby bar or the TV program. Upon check-in, I asked at reception if there was a room service menu available. They confirmed. When I arrived at the room I couldn't find any menu, so I called the reception desk. They assured me a menu would be delivered. A few minutes later I received a call from a restaurant staff member informing me that there was no room service menu available, but that i could order verbally and whatever I wished. Since I didn't know what kind of food choices they had, I went downstairs just to find that the hotel's only restaurant was a sukiyaki place. But they did have also a large Thai food menu, from which I started to order just to be told three times that the chosen dish was not available. I ended up with fried rice. The other negative was that the mini bar was very poorly stocked. There was one bottle of coke and other soft drinks, and single bottles of local beer brands (2 in total), which seemed a little stingy considering that 2 people could have stayed in the room and not only I alone. They charged 50 Thai Baht a day if one used the supplied tea bags and instant coffe, which i found a bit steep. other hotels in this price category provide free tea bags and instant coffee. The biggest plus of the hotel, apart from the spotlessly clean rooms, is its location a mere 3-minute walk from the Night Bazar and the local nightlife where you have a great selection of restaurants, so the lack of room service might not be so bothersome after all. The hotel is good value for money nevertheless, again mainly attributable to its favourable location.

I stayed at this hotel for two weeks and found it to be a good bargain. The location was great for access to the Night Bazaar (without experiencing any street noise) and walking to Thapae Gate. The room was clean and comfortable and I had no problem with the shower water pressure (for me it was more than adequate). There was also plenty of hot water. Breakfast offerings could get a little monotonous, but the kitchem did try to make small changes daily. My suggestions would be to install black-out drapes in the rooms. Mini blinds do nothing to keep the sun out just in case you might want to sleep-in a morning or two. Also, there was a problem with mosquitos in the room. The hotel is aware of the problem and housekeeping does spray the room. Unfortunately, it didn't seem to do much to remedy the situation. The internet service is 60 bhat for one half hour which is much higher than any of the local internet cafes, but it seems that all of the hotels charge way too much. With that said, I would stay at this hotel again and hope to on my next rip to Chiang Mai.

Location is good. Hotel staff service is average and information not very forthcoming. Range of food at breakfast very limited and monotonous.

It is a good location near night market, but the breakfast was very very very awful. There are lot of small insect on the dishes. So we have to give up the idea for having breakfast at there, although our rate include it.

The hotel is situated in a very good and convenient location. Very close to the night market. Room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast spread was poor and the same menu was repeated daily.

Nice location--It's 5 mins walk to night market yet away from the hustle and bustle. The room and furnishing is clean. However, the shower seems lacking as it is trickles only. Breakfast is very basic spread -- will be boring if stay is longer than 2 days. Overall, it is excellent value for money.

Good location, near Night Bazaar & nice shops along loi kroh road. Friendly & helpful staff too. However breakfast was just ok only, nothing to rave about. Hotel price is pretty ok, but if u're on a tight budget, good guesthouses around loi kroh road can be found for cheaper.

This is a nice little hotel - rooms very small - no pool, although one can use the pool at the adjacent hotel.
