This is a lovely hotel with very nice Lana decoration. Staff are very friendly and it is a short walk to the flower market/local market and night bazaar for shopping. Only complaint is about the mosquitoes but we came prepared with the repellant and it was not a big issue for us.

The room design was a little difficult to manuver in. Entry into room was awkward and entry into bathroom area opened onto the toilet area and made difficult to get in and out of. The hotel was beautiful and the staff are very accommodating in every way. Very quiet neighborhood and off the beaten track. If you want to relax and be pampered this is the place, but if you want to explore the city and won't really be in the room except to sleep, it's a bit too much.

Derek from Switzerland stayed in a Deluxe for 2 days.
I chose Puripunn because it was almost brand new when I checked in in April 2006. I stayed at the D2 before moving into the Puripunn. Unfortunately for the Puripunn, the location of D2 made all the difference. Puripunn is on the east side of the River Ping and everything that was happening in Chiang Mai was on the other side. This was such that I kept myself crossing the River Ping a few times a day. Although the Puripunn offerred a complimentary tuk tuk service, there is only 1 tuk tuk and this can be problem if the hotel fills up. A tip - make sure that your room is not the rooms closest to the reception. I was put in one of these rooms and the staff never told me about the dog farm immediately next door. The dogs woke me up in the middle of the night. This was not good because I had to leave at sunrise.

Steven from United States stayed in a Deluxe for 3 days.
Beautiful hotel with fantastic service, but the irregular hot/cold water in the shower was very unpleasant. Restaurant has delicious food at good prices and the hotel's tuk-tuk was very handy. Hotel was only one month old at the time of our stay. Each room has personal touches. The hotel offers free broadband wireless, and has a free transportation available. Slightly off the beaten track, but this can be a benefit as well.
Thais celebrate Buddha’s birthday. Local Wats (Buddhist Temples) celebrate by holding candlelit processions. A tourist may take part in these parades and it can prove great fun.

Asanha Puja
Sees Thai Buddhists celebrating Buddhist lent, the full moon festival. One can view Buddhist temples throughout the year, but this tradition can be picturesque due to the activity of the saffron robed followers.
