The staffs here are very friendly, they attent to every of our request. The location is excellent for me, close to cultural centre, food stall and many more which make me feel like home. Its so relax staying here. In fact this is my second time staying in DownTown and i will certainly come again if i feel like coming to Chiang Mai again. I was given an average room on arrival (actually i have requested for the room at ground floor in my booking), but we requested for a change and the room was very much better. We have everything we needed in a hotel room. Near to everything i am looking for as...

Overall the hotel is good value for money. The staff are pleasant and an added bonus is the wireless connectivity in the lobby. The poor breakfast is my only criticism

I found the staff friendly and helpful. This was not my first stay and I think the breakfast could use some upgrading, I think it's the same breakfast they served when their prices were lower.. Other Hotels in this price range where I have stayed in Thailand put out a nicer array of food and fruits for breakfast. Overall I would choose to stay again.

The hotel is a basic tourist class hotel with reasonably sized clean rooms, though the bathrooms are tired and in need of renovation. The buffet breakfast is ok, but the restautant offers well priced thai and western food throughout the day. The staff are helpful and courteous. There is a small patio and pool. The best feature of the hotel is its location, only 2 minutes walk from Chiang Mai's night bazarre on Chang Klan Road.

Be careful...thiefs! room cleaning staff stole two dresses and one shirt of my wife's clothes from the room. We discovered it last night and only before check out - after we threaten to call the police - "the staff found the shirt in the laundary" and the manager compensated us for one dress. Only later, when we arrived to Pukhet, we discovered the missing second dress, but it was too late... We will never go back to an hotel where you have to lock even your tooth brush when you leave the room ......

The hotel is without doubt in a fantastic location a few minutes walk from the Night Bazar and - in the opposite direction - the river. Just down the road are numerous restaurants and pubs, which helps to a void the hotel's awful restaurant. My room was rather smallish and a little run-down although clean. There was a minibar, though. The TV was what seemed to be a model from the mid-50s and the channel selection was poor, particularly in terms of the few English-language channels. The tiny swimmingpool is not worth mentioning. Staff are rather sluggish and a little disinterested. Some taxi touts were constantly loitering in front of the hotel. But the favourably priced room made up for all the other shortcomings and I definitely would stay there again. As they say: One cannot expect a Mercedes Benz for the price of a Toyota.

The highlight of this budget hotel is just nearby to the Night Bazaar. Is very convenience for travellers to walk to the bazaar whenever is needed. Transportation can be easily get it surrounding the hotel. Tips - opposit the hotel there is a corner saloon. Her husband and friends are very helpful and friendly to be hired as your personal tour guide. If you are looking for one, just visit the opposite saloon but make sure the tour guide can speak better English. We had trouble for one guy who hardly speak and understand but he is helpful. Definitely stay in Downtown Inn during our next trip. Thanks to HotelTravel.

We were only in Chiang Mai for one night so the hotel was well situated for the Night Market. The room was very comfortable, room service good - no complaints.

This Hotel did not meet any of its advertisement and I can only describe it as a backpackers hotel. If this is what people require then this is suitable only for that. Very overpriced.

The Downtown Inn is conveniently situated only 2 or 3 minutes walk from Chaing Mai night market, and a few minutes walk from the Mae Ping river and the riverside restaurants. It is a basic tourist class hotel that belongs to the more upmarket nearby Empress Hotel. The rooms are a little basic and simply furnished, but have facilties such as air conditioning, minibar and TV, and are a good size and reasonably clean. The bathrooms are small and a little old fashioned. The staff are friendly and polite and speak some English at the front desk. There is a simple hot buffet breakfast and the restaurant also has an outdoor terrace beside the small swimming pool. I have stayed at the hotel several times and think it offers simple accomodation with pleasant service and is very good value for money.

This hotel's very central to night markets and food stalls but at the same time romantic because it is an 'oasis' with a riverside view. It has a lot of charm but is hip at the same time, a lovely jaz...
