Very convenient location and excellent value for money. Slightly faded decor in bedrooms but all very clean and comfortable. Very friendly staff. We were also able to arrange late checkout for a small extra cost which was very worthwhile as we did not fly until midnight on the day we left. Would definitely stay there again. (Hotel does not look anything like the picture at the head of the review though!)...

Clean, nice size rooms, good location with minor irritations - no drawers in room, no socket to recharge mobile telephone, limited number of English TV stations

We stayed at the Viengtai Hotel for two nights - the rooms were very comfortable and clean. The location was excellent for Khoa San Road and Rambuttri Road, but nice andquiet for sleeping. Easy for taxi's and tuk tuks. Would stay again. Many good priced restaurants around.

The beds are exceptionally clean and no bad smell. Pillows are good but slightly firm and thick. No facial tissue available. Bath room is old with some mildew. Hangers are less than adequate. No internet hook up. No fitness facility. Nice refrigerator and I like the complimented bottle water daily. Most of taxi drivers did not know the location of the hotel. Resturant and food are good. Receptionists and employee personnels are friendlyy and courtescious.

This hotel is advertised as 3 star, however by comparison to some of the other 3 star hotels i stayed in, in bangkok, this hotel is not even in the same league. The rooms look more than 10 years old, they are dirty and falling apart. The bathrooms are very dimly lit and some what moldy in between the tiles. The hall ways out side the rooms have ripped up carpet with huge stains on them. Basically it needs a refurb and a good clean. This woudl be okay iof the price was right. However for the price they are charging (£27 per night) it is not worth staying here as you can get much much better for the same price. e.g. Royal Benja in Suckhumvit.

Good location, convenient. Decoration is a little old. But bath water is good. TV set is small (14").

this was not a nice stay in terms of service and room quality. at check in the reception was extremely rude. if that was the deluxe room i do not want to know what a normal room would have been. the only positive aspect is that the room was very quiet and we where very close to Kao San road. will certainly not book this hotel again. Arrival at hotel was a pure disaster and the best example of how customer service should not be! as we arived there was no "welcoem to hotel" or anything alike instead a list was rudely put in front of us and we where told to find our names ( the list not being in alphabetical order and being a few pages long did not help. then they did not halve a double room for us but only a twin room ( we are a couple) so in the end we took it after bein told it is very easy to put the two beds together. then they did not want to recognise the voucher and it took me good five minutes to convinc the reception that this was the voucher.

It's so close to Khao Shan RD that it could be noisy in the evening but the transportation can be easy.

Room was not Deluxe as booked but seemingly lowest quality in this hotel. Rooms towards the street are noisy until 1.30 AM. Excellent location to major sight-seeing sites.

the traffic is pretty bad in that neighbourhood since its at khoa san road so bear in mind if you are in rush to get to the airport etc - and its also not close to the sky train... but def close to the grand palace and temples. also, the taxi ride from airport should not be more than 200 baht!

Viengtai is a nice hotel, the staff are all very friendly and happy to speak English with you if you are unable to speak Thai. The location is fantastic as you are close to everything but it is quiet enough to be able to sleep! The only advice I would give is that you request to see a few rooms when you check in as some are a LOT nicer than others. Also the difference between the deluxe and standard rooms is not worth paying for, in our case the standard room was much nicer and only a tiny bit smaller. All in all I will surely stay at Viengtai again.

Extremely rude staff. Both the pool water and the room smelled of sewage. Stayed here many times before but this was the last time - never again!

Hotel lobby was very nice with aircon.A relief to the heat outside. We stayed here on 2 seperate occations the first was a nice room on the fifth floor possibly a newer part of the hotel.Second stay the room smelt a bit musty but still ok.Good buffet breakfast and khao san road on the next street. There was very little outside noise and in my opinion it is the best hotel in the area.
