Rated #47 for all Bangkok hotels
The first room I was given was on the 2nd floor, immediately over the beer garden. In spite of the double-glazing, the music was too loud in my room. I was told it went on until 11.00pm. I asked the desk-staff if I could move rooms and the next day I was changed to a room on the other side of the building, on the 4th floor. The staff were very helpful and the rest of my 9-day stay was most enjoyable. ...

Nice buffet- interesting variety. Bed was VERY comfortable. Location near sky train and subway was great. Plenty of restaurants in walking distance. Staff very helpful. Wireless internet was easy to use and fine at night but quite slow during the day.

Very well located and professionally operated in every aspect. I've stayed at many hotels in Bangkok and paid much more, however, none exceed The Swiss Lodge for value.

Overall, this hotel is very good in terms of location, rooms cleanliness, service and security. Due to it being a petite boutique hotel, hotel security is tight and reassuring. Location-wise, it is less than 1 min to Sala Daeng BTS station. Just a walk across the main road and you are at Patpong - BKK's infamous night bazaar. It is also a stone's throw away from Robinson dept store and also Top's supermarket. Conveniently located near Sala Daeng MRT station (which is just one stop away from Lumpini station - which is the stop for Suan Luam, another famous night bazaar.) Overall, i enjoy staying there because of its location, friendly staff and the small delicious food stalls that pepper the streets leading to the hotel (by the way, most of these guys can speak English and are not there to rip you off...) Cheers!

At this hotel, you are paying for the location. It's right in the heart of Silom, surrounded by small restaurants, shops, and massage/spa services, within easy walking distance (about 2 blocks) of the Sky Train. You are also a short taxi ride away from most anything you want to do, including the temples on the riverfront. The rooms are nothing fancy, but they are clean and neat. The breakfast is excellent. I was there in the low season, so I had no trouble with the small-ish breakfast room being overcrowded. The front desk staff was extremely friendly and helpful, happy to help with directions and make reservations for shows or whatever. More than once they arranged for the bellman to put me into a tuk-tuk or taxi and give the driver directions in Thai, ensuruing my safe arrival as well as a fair rate. When I returned to the hotel, they were eager to hear about my experience. On my last night, when I called the front desk to arrange a wake-up call for 4:30 a.m. to catch my early flight, they asked if I would like an early breakfast delivered to my room (at no extra charge). How thoughtful! I would definitely stay here again.

Swiss Lodge has trained its staff well. They were extremely courteous and went out of their way to make staying at the Lodge a most pleasant experience. It's certainly a place where I would stay again when I next holiday in Bangkok.

The Swiss lodge is a wonderful medium priced hotel. The people are what make it so charming. Breakfast is delicious, the rooms are always clean. I wish the shower head was better (small problem for a tall man). I would come back anytime.

I have stayed in over 12 different hotels in Bangkok, and try to give new ones a chance. The staff was extreemly friendly and helpfull. The food was great, and the location was in the heart of the action. The room was dissapointing. Compared to many other hotels you don't get much for the $. You are paying to be near Patpong and the action of Silom. If that is worth it to you great. For my money I think I would walk the extra 2 blocks and stay at the Sofitel or Triple 2 Silom. Both hotels have much more for the money. Bigger rooms nicer facilities.

My first stay at The Swiss Lodge was earlier this year. I was so impressed with the level of service and the convenience that I decided to return on Aug 31, 2006 with 3 other friends for 3 nights. I have to say that location of Swiss Lodge is wonderful. Close to SalaDaeng BTS to catch the train and yet far enough from the hustle and bustle for quiet and peace. In the nights, you can find a variety of food stalls near the hotel. Rooms were clean. Bathrobes and bedroom slippers provided. Morning newspaper too. Big spread offered at buffet breakfast...from local porridge, fruits, bacon, cheese to made to order omelettes. And nearby the hotel, there is a quaint massage place called Ruen Nuad. So, after a hard day of walking, it was nice to have the tired muscles kneaded. A couple of things marred our stay and that would be the bad soup we had from room service and the not so helpful front desk staff member. I couldn't remember her name but she was not helpful when I asked her for information on the Floating Market. And when I asked her for a map of Bangkok, she gave me a used one that had chewing gum stuck inside. I was totally NOT impressed. Putting these aside, it was a wonderful stay.

The Swiss Lodge was an excellent hotel - very clean and in a great location, near the skytrain and Patpong night market. Great ammenities ie robe, slippers, soap, toothbrush, lotions, shampoo. Also, very clean. Staff was very friendly. Good breakfast buffet. Pool was being renovated so did not use.

A nice quiet sweet hotel with spotless if somewhat dated looking rooms.
Didn't use much of the hotel facilities. The buffet breakfast was excellent, but was dissapointed by the average room service food. Overall good, especially with its superb location right next to the skytrain and Silom nightlife.

I always stay at the Swiss Lodge. I have recommended it to many friends and colleagues and they all return with like experiences: outstanding staff, outstanding location, and outstanding value. I will not stay anywhere else in Bangkok. The Swiss Lodge knows what they are doing; they are a superb hotel.

i loved this hotel, the rooms were bright and airy. the facilities were first class. the staff were cheerful and knowledgable. i rate them very highly. the only downside was that they had no rooms with disabled facilities or a walk in shower. my mother struggled to get over the bath and use the shower facility. one or two disabled rooms would be a real benefit to the hotel i think.
