A pleasing hotel, located on the west bank of the river in Bangkok. We had a riverside-view room with a nice terrace where we could sip Singha beer and watch the myriad of boats go by. It is not in the centre of Bangkok, so many will not find the location to their liking. It is, however, situated along the river and the view is magnificent. Very, very helpful Thai staff. Good knowledge of English. Getting taxis from the hotel is never a problem. It is just as easy (and cheaper) to haul a cab just on the outside of the hotel. ...

You ought to make it clear that a 'river side' room does NOT mean river front, but a room on the SIDE of the hotel, with a view of the river. In English 'riverside' is normally going to be taking as facing onto the river. Good value for money hotel, though, and very good that you can check in early after an overnight flight from Europe. We checked in at around 9.00 am and were able to use our room immediately. A big bonus after a long and tiring journey!

In Bangkok we always stay in this hotel. The hotel is perfect to relax, direct at the river with a nice terrace to have a drink. Very good breakfast. Good service. Our favorit hotel for a short stay in Bangkok, in a non touristic area. At the daytime you can get on one of the public boots next door, the best way to move around in Bangkok. For nightlife you need to take a taxi.

Sauna/Thai massage was excellent. Very good and varied breakfast. Towels were a bit shabby but otherwise the room was terrific. The hotel is a bit removed from the main stuff, but this results that it is quiet. Plus, once you get the knack of it, it is not actually that far away. Good value for money.

Good value for money huge room, huge bed ,would have slept 2 adults & 2 children! Bathroom needed a little upgrade though ? However we arrived very early morning after travelling all day & night, very tired & my wife very travel sick but were almost immediately booked in to our room at no extra cost ( a huge relief to my wife! ) Balcony with great views of the river. Incredible breakfasts not to be missed, catered for people from all countries.Great location so close to the very convenient public river ferry to take you to many of the tourist sites Royal Palace & various temples (wats)etc. Reception staff very professional but lacking in good English but bell boys & door staff more than made up for this. Lovely river terrace for evening eating but sadly while we were there no atmosphere but discovered a place next door called the River View which was great at night for food & live music. All in all a great hotel would recommened & definitely stay there again.

I was recommended this hotel and have stayed in it three times during the past three weeks. For the money it was excellent and would certainly recommend it to friends. As a solo traveller I felt safe and did not feel embarrassed on my own to go into the bar, etc.

The hotel is a little out of the way, which seemed a disadvantage at first, but then progressively became a plus, for its being right on the river, having excellent public and private ferry facilities, and being in an area, Bangplad, little accustomed to tourists, with an eating style not just typically Thai, not just authentically Thai, but actually Bangkokian Thai to a T. The other great advantage is that the hotel is so aware of the perceived disadvantage of distance, that it does luxury very cheaply. I will return.

The hotel left me in a superior room, though i presented a voucher for a deluxe room. They made me move at 19.30 in the evening after finally realising their mistake.

The overall quality of the hotel is very good. The fittings and furnishings are very high quality and the room is large and comfortable. They fall short of excellent because they have no sound proofing whatsoever. It is a little bit far away from the city attractions and the only nearby public transport are the river boats which have limited destinations - taxis can be costly, especially at night. If the hotel organises a taxi for the guests they add on an extra charge - better to walk 50m to the street and hail one of the many that pass by. A mojor disappointment for us was the lack of sound proofing in the rooms - the noise intrudes from the street, the hotel corridors and the other rooms. I would not stay there again because of the noise factor.

Everythink is OK, except for furnishings of our Superior Riverside room - the furniture badly needs renovation!!!!!! Good hotel with a very poor furniture - it's a strange mix... Convenient location for independent travellers - a boat station is only 5 minutes to walk, mini-markets are nearby, Lotus shopping mall is within walking distance (20 minutes). All in all, I am satisfied with this hotel.

This was my first trip to Bangkok and found the Hotel staff very helpful, explaining the best ways of getting around and seeing all the sights. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Our room was very clean and the beds very comfortable. Breakfasts had a good selection of food. We enjoyed the deck outside, looking over the river where an excellent buffet was prepared each evening. I will certainly use this hotel again in the future.

I enjoy the location. It's on the river, so the breeze makes the weather more tolerable (I also enjoy the hotel's shuttle boat ride to River City and back). It is away from the worst of the Bangkok trafic.

Furnishings were 70's. A/C barely worked. Carpet was original. Not attractive or nice in any way. Big impersonal hotel. Staff even advise not staying there. Am breakfast was consistently cold, even when opening at 6am. No place else closeby to offer a choice. Horrible, almost inaccessible location. Taxi service will try to cheat you when you leave by extorting 700 baht for a 175 baht ride to the airport. Get your own cab on the street. Only real way to get to city is via river boat (takes 30 mins each way). Avoid this hotel at all costs.

We love the location of this hotel, as we could easily use the water bus to go everywhere we wanted to go and there are several very nice restaurants nearby. The breakfast bar, pool and massage services were also very pleasant. Unfortunately, the desk staff and the contract staff (ie, travel desk and taxi stand) were not friendly or helpful. The contract staff in particular did no want to serve guests' needs but rather only wanted to make extra money off the guests. Fortunately, the bell staff would intervene and provide true help. Another vexing aspect of this hotel is the so-called cable television service. It was predominately local television with only a few channels in non-Thai languages and only 2 channels (CNN and Bloomberg) in English (and CNN was broken, broadcasting both radio and television soundtracks together!). We stayed at many hotels this trip and even two star hotels in Vietnam and Cambodia offer full cable including HBO, BBC and Star Channel.

We stayed in a deluxe river view room which was very spacious and had a great view of the river. The hotel provides a complementary boat service, three times a day, to the River City shopping complex. But they will take you further down to the pier for the skytrain stop on request. The pier for the public river boats is a only few minutes away and provides another option. We did enjoy this method of travel and it takes only half and hour to get to the main shopping areas and there are no delays as there are no traffic jams. So the distance from the main shopping and entertainment areas - which is probably the main negative - was not a great disadvantage. We were apprehensive after reading some of the reviews but this was unfounded. The hotel is very good value for money and we had a very pleasent stay and will stay there again if we are in Bangkok. Contrary to the experience of some of the reviewers, we found the staff to be very friendly and helpful.
