Dissappointed with this hotel, bed linen not clean, permanent smell of tobaco smoke although non smoking requested. The taxi service station at the hotel were asking twice the price for a journey to the airport as that paid from the airport to the hotel. A good central location for Silom road shopping etc.

Good location at 5 minutes from night market and sky train.
Room are in a very poor shape.
Staff is definitly not the most friendly
Food (breakfast) does not deserve any good word
and to finish they do require a joiner fee if you want to invite somebody overnight in your room
Pleanty other hotels in bangkok are cleaner, in a nice location, better food and no joiner fee

Had an awful experience staying in Plaza Hotel recently. There was no hair dryer in the room. Requested one and you are only allowed to use it for two hours and the cleaning lady will take it from you. Since i stayed there for three nights, i need to "borrow" it every day!!! The worst experience is i requested for it on my last day (i.e. check out day) and guess what....the cleaning lady ignored my request!!!
Besides this, my friend (who is sharing the room with me) requested for an extra pillow....and guess what??..the staff told him that we are only allowed to have 3 pillows in a room. I have been travelling around the globe and never has this experience before even in 3rd world countries.
My strong advice to all tourists.....don't ever stay in this hotel!!!

For second time stay like this Hotel, it is mainly location in Silom area with allot of night live and close to Skytrain for easy moving in BKK. (can go to city and to river to take river taxi which is cheap and fast way to move around.)

Some what old Hotel but very well located in Silom area walking distance to Skytrain or subway. Rooms big and clean. For this price good deal in BKK with friendly staff. Aircon less effective but OK , otherwise you will freeze in BKK

Bed was confy. There are roaches (not only in the bathroom, but in the room). Hotel Restaurant stuff manager (breakfast shift) was very friendly, professional, and he speaks perfect English (including the accent). Don't take the Taxi service from the hotel because it charges a lot more.

Plaza Hotel is a really good hotel for the money you pay. I stayed many times in this hotel and I like it, because of the near to Patpong, to the Skytrain-station, to Lumpini park and also to China town. You can reach all very easy.
The hotel is not new and the swimming-pool is not really big, but I always feel like home in this hotel.
Also the staff of the hotel are all really friendly and helpful.

The breakfast was just horrible. For breakfast, the hotel served omelets (a little undercooked but ok), fried eggs (undercooked and bad), thai noodles (decent but not my typical choice for breakfast), toast (be careful), milk and orange juice. We saw a roach crawling on the bread, which the staff just ignored. Also, had a roach in the room near the refridgerator in our room. The swimming pool was pretty scary - bad location at the outside of the hotel covered from most sunshine and bad lighting and envirnonment around the pool made us stay away completely after seeing it once. The staff was pretty friendly and the internet in the business center worked, had decent speed, but was overpriced like in all hotels. Overall, not a good hotel experience. We thought we could get a decent hotel for the price in Thailand, but geez were we wrong. The hotel is not really conveniently located near anything except Patpong. It is a 10 minute walk to the Skytrain.

A fairly typical lower middle price Bangkok hotel. The lack of modern decor downstairs is compensated for by the large rooms and good in-room facilities. The breakfast buffet is better than some higher priced hotels. The pool, although having poor surroundings, (not the fault of the hotel) is well kept. There is no gym room at present, but some construction seems to be underway near the pool, something may be coming soon! At the price, better than most that I have stayed in in the City of Angels. If a comfortable bed and relaxing room are important, if you are a five-star person then this is not the hotel for you.
