The peninsula is a fantastic hotel, the best in Bangkok, the best in South East Asia and quite possibly the best in the world! It is impossible to fault it in any way. The one thing that is sometimes critisized is the fact taht it is on "the wrong side of the river". This, in fact, is one of it's greatest attributes, the views over Bangkok from every room are stunning and the hotel boats take no more than 3 minutes to get you across the river and into central Bangkok, Skytrain etc. Try it, you will not be dissapointed!...

My boyfriend and I's first trip overseas together, and the Peninsula exceeded my expectations! The staff were sooo helpful and friendly & the location was very convenient for all the tourist-y places! Only thing was it was abit far from Sukhumvit (think thats the spelling) which had more of a night life. But all's good, it was convenient to book a tour thru the concierge etc. Very helpful staff, the concierge was exceptionally helpful giving us hints and tips on the locals etc! The restaurant and morning breakfast buffet was TOPS! Also got a lovely massage at the eSpa! Definitely recommended for a relaxing place to stay =))

Wonderful stay- the room had a stunning view and stunning facilities. We only spent one day in Bangkok and were pleased to use the private ferry several times throughthe day and evening to cross to the busy side of the river. We also used spa and pool- staff were helpful in everthing from transport to use of facilties. Can't wait to vist Bangkok a second time and will definitly stay here again

Great suites. Glitsy and imposing but not very child friendly. No childrens pool, very few ramps for strollers and dangerously deep (groundlevel and unfenced) ornamental water features. Quality of food was also disappointing.Eventhou the service was excellent we would not do it again. Excellent size and stuning view but the equipment is ageing and the bathroom could use an update. No childrens pool and dangerous ground level eater features that are unfenced. Other features are as expected. Friendly and open. Nothing seems too much to ask.Really excellent. More focus on looks than quality. Room service food was disappointing in quality. Breakfast looks great but also disappoints. The best food can be found in the roadside food stalls just outside the gates of the hotel. Service was near perfect. No childrens pool and dangerous water features and lack of ramps for strollers. cot together with amenities were perfect. Access to the river is great and only 30 min from the airport. Not that much to do immediately around the hotel. River and MRT are nearby and the congiere will arrange for a taxi in minutes.

We stayed one day and night in Bangkok and this was the perfect hotel to do just that. Located on the river and had free private taxi boat service to the otherside to get to the pier! It also looks great and was everything i expected for 5 star hotel!

Transportation by boat is fun. That's Bangkok. The concierge were helpful and professional, but also friendly, not condescending as at the most hotel as like. I am really satisfied with this hotel.

I am in the middle of a six month trip around the world and staying in great hotels is a reward. There is NOT a single hotel that I have stayed in that compares with the overall experience at the Peninsula. The setting, the room, the service, everything combined makes this hotel, the Peninsula in Bangkok, the finest hotel in my experience.

This is a well established hotel with beautiful decor! that's it!!! We stayed in the Shangri-la a week before, the staff, from door man to head conceirge were so friendly and happy to assist with any queries. Whether they were small or last minute. The Peninsula didn't have that same atmosphere and friendly attitude. First impression seem to be the staff see themselves above everything else. Peninsula lays on the wrong side of the river where it sits among nothing!! absolutely nothing!!! Some local shops here and there but you have to use the in-house boat service that takes you to the other side and then you can make your connection to town-centre. (FYI. the boat service stops at mid-night) If you're old / boring and so happens to visit this exciting city with the intention to stay within the hotel compound and not leave - This is the hotel for you!! There are plenty of things to do and eat (probably have to sell your left lung by the time you check-out!) Overall, hotel 'Interior' decor was amazing, out side seem like a shabby 70's office block and the rooms are spacious with all the usual stuff. I wouldn't stay in the Peninsula - Bangkok again purely on the basis that: 1. its too isolated from everthing else. 2. staff are not as friendly.

All staff were well-trained, friendly and professional. Completion of Spa is keanly awaited! It should be great. I also found their own boats to cross the river is quite useful while some people find the hotel a bit far form the city center. They gave us a higher-grade room because deluxe, which we originally booked, were all full. It was a great offer but room space is desired to be a little larger comparing to the bathroom space.

Large room, twin three quarter beds, fabulous bathroom (never seen better), sofa area, desk area - all this in the least expensive de luxe room! Everything about the Peninsula is utterly first class. The staff, the ambience, the service, the food, the area on the river is magical at nighttime. River location is magic at night. Love the teak boats that whiz you back and forth to several destinations. I cannot imagine anywhere better! Very, very expensive for "ordinary mortals" but worth every penny. I would never go to Bangkok without a one or two night stay at the Peninsula. I would love to stay longer!!

I was concerned about being on the "other side of the river", but it turned out to be fun to take the shuttle boats that came and went every couple of minutes to the Skytrain station or the Oriental Hotel Pier. Also being on the "other side" gave you fabulous nightime views of Bangkok as well as the river activity. The hotel was extremely comfortable and exceeded my expectations.

This hotel is exceptional. We did have one problem this time with the service at Jesters Restaurant, where the service was VERY rushed. Apart from that, this is our favourite hotel, anywhere !!!

I enjoyed my stay very much and was impressed by the excellent service and the standard of the hotel. The only negative aspect was the high price of late checkout. My flight left at 01.20 in the morning and I wanted a checkout at 10 pm. This would have cost a full day at the hotel, at usual (not discounted) rate! I chose to leave my room at 6 pm which cost a half day rate. This was however the only negative aspect of my stay and I will definitely stay there again.

This hotel was absolutely the best I've ever had the pleasure of staying in. The service was superb and the room was exquisite. The value for the room was better than ANY major US or European city for it's size, amenities, view and comfort. We chose to upgrade to a suite (additional US$70) and were so happy we wanted to move in and stay. Food and beverage prices at the hotel are to Western standards, i.e. several times what you'd pay to eat at a local Thai restaurant. Watch out for the Peninsual Water. It's a bottle of water that costs the equivalent to US$10 and it tastes like tap.

The hotel had given away all the room types of what we had reserved so we got a free upgrade to a suite. It was fantastic set of rooms with amazing views (as all rooms in the building have).Great. But it smelled very musty in the room when we walked in. Pool is small but nice. The river side restaurant is excellent although overpriced for what it is. The little boats going across the river to 'town' were the best bit, made us feel like we were on an exclusive island. Highly recommended.
