Mandarin Oriental Bangkok is a hotel with a long history. The legend of the Mandarin Oriental Bangkok dates back over 120 years when the doors first opened as a seaman's lodge along the fabled Chao Phya River. Since that time, the legend has continued to grow, and today the Mandarin Oriental Bangkok is recognized as one of the world's premier city resorts.

This is simply the best in Bangkok, hands down. The Oriental is a true 5-star hotel, with impeccable service and rigorous attention to detail. Not only that, all the staff are very kind and impressively thoughtful. It's a real pleasure to stay here. Plus, the place is rich with history, and I like that. The hotel dates back to the days of Anna and the King, and they have a selection of antique photos on display in the Authors Lounge. Many world-renowned writers have resided here as well. The service and friendliness was excellent.
Food & beverage has gone down in quality. breakfast display and quality was good.Thai Food in the Thai Restaurant was the most disappointing. Poor quality.
Had better Thai food in other Restaurants. I always thought the Oriental Thai Food was the best but not any more.

If you're going to spend the money on a riverside hotel, this is the place to stay.

I enjoyed my stay immensely. A beautiful hotel, with friendly attentive staff and good facilities. I especially enjoyed the Thai cookery class and also the yoga classes at the Fitness Centre.
