Mandarin Oriental Bangkok is a hotel with a long history. The legend of the Mandarin Oriental Bangkok dates back over 120 years when the doors first opened as a seaman's lodge along the fabled Chao Phya River. This is simply the best in Bangkok, hands down. The Oriental is a true 5-star hotel, with impeccable service and rigorous attention to detail. Not only that, all the staff are very kind and impressively thoughtful. It's a real pleasure to stay here. Plus, the place is rich with history, and I like that. The hotel dates back to the days of Anna and the King, and they have a selection of antique photos on display in the Authors Lounge. Many world-renowned writers have resided here as well. The service and friendliness was excellent. Food & beverage has gone down in quality. breakfast display and quality was good.Thai Food in the Thai Restaurant was the most disappointing. Poor quality. Had better Thai food in other Restaurants. I always thought the Oriental Thai Food was the best but not any more.

If you're going to spend the money on a riverside hotel, this is the place to stay.

I enjoyed my stay immensely. A beautiful hotel, with friendly attentive staff and good facilities. I especially enjoyed the Thai cookery class and also the yoga classes at the Fitness Centre.
