As a Muslim we like very much to this hotel due to everything is available like praying room, direction of kiblat located in quiet location good for rest. Not so far from public road so we can just working to have taxi or tuk-tuk to go everywhere with reasonable rate. Mostly even many western people staying in this hotel, there were very polite in attitude and wearing. No charge for locker room if we put luggage less of 24 hours. So we enjoy very much staying 4 nights in this hotel and recommended

Enjoyed my stay at New World Lodge Hotel...staff are helpful, friendly and are able to speak good English. The room is clean, toilet is adequate with good flushing system and hot water, TV comes with HBO channel and best of all, thefood served at both restaurants are HALAL. As a muslim tourist, I was worried whether I was able to find Halal food, but I was extremely satisfied with the good selection of breakfast buffet provided in the mornings.I would definitely recommend this hotel to my family and friends!

Below average, not the cleanest and out of the way. Stayed there because it was cheap, you get what you pay for. This is a 2-star backpacker bar that hasn't been upgraded in Years.

My partner & I had a Superior Double room for 4 nights here which was very big, spotless with a full size fridge (stocked with cheap drinks & snacks, though not quite as cheap as going to 7-11 yourself) like you'd have in your home & a balcony overlooking the (smelly) canal - this wasn't an issue for us though cos we had the door closed all the time for the air con, & to be honest most of bangkok is a bit pungent! The staff were very friendly, we arrived after 3am off a delayed flight & had no trouble checking in.
There was a good breakfast variety & the rooms had 2 bottles of drinking water provided free each day. The bathroom was a bit dated & run down but still clean, the shower a bit on the small side. Toiletries, towels, dressing gown & slippers provided as well as warm water in the shower. The rooms were secure & had a safe free of charge in them also. Note though there is no swimming pool which some websites we visited told us there was. It is also a Muslim run establishment as someone previously mentioned so they do not sell alcohol but there's nothing to stop you bringing your own in for the fridge like we did. The TV also had a good variety of english speaking channels including movie ones which we appreciated since we were both a bit ill when we first arrived so spent a couple of evenings in rather than out drinking.
The area was nice & quiet while only being a 5-10 minute walk from Khao San Rd. Our taxi driver from the airport had no problems finding the place, the hotel could also arrange taxi's for you if you were going elsewhere & ours to the train station when we left turned it's meter on no problem after we asked. It was very cheap too - taught us that tuk tuk's aren't always the best option unless you can barter very well! They start at 35Baht & stayed at that price for most of the journey, it only cost us 60 Baht to the train station if anyone is going there after staying here.
We would definately return to stay here.

Good location only 5-10 min walk to Kao San Rd. Hotel seems to be run by muslims so minibar is "dry" ,but only a short walk to a bar or 7-11 for drinks for your fridge. Nice rooms and good satelite tv channels for europeans.

Great place for Bangkok. A bit expensive but everything was so easy it was almost worth the extra money. Plus, the included breakfast buffet was excellent! You could fill up on that for the entire day! Nice quiet location still close to Koah San and river boat ferries and only a cheap taxi ride away from Siam and Silom. Great staff, large clean room...what else could you want?

First stay-over was in room 402, on a corner close to the road bridge that crosses the canal, and, despite the good air conditioning, the traffic noise was disturbing. On our return a week later, and on requesting a room on the other side of the building, peace and tranquity ensued and we enjoyed our comfortable stay. Staff helpful, English-speaking, and the easy 5 min walk to the heart of Khoasan area was a great plus. Also, 10 min walk to river transport places the city at one's disposal. Comfy and good value, well-run hotel.

We had stayed in room 308 on the 3 floor for 4 nights and had a good time. But we were a little bit dissepointed about the bathroom. The bathroom was very small and also poor. In the morning you can smel the cooking from downstaire. My opinion is: the bathroom have to be restorated.

The hotel itself was very basic with no bar facilities no pool and no lounge areas. The hotel was clean, however the surrounding area was appallingly poor and smelly. The hotel over looks a filthy stagnent river with shanty type houses facing you. This is however, Bangkok and is to be expected in a suburb area. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk to the Koh Saan Road along a very very busy main road with lots of beggars and derelict buildings. All in all, a basic hotel in a run down area but for the price paid we diidnt expect 5 star.

We felt that the hotel was very good value for money. The staff were not only very polite but also very friendly. I have only one negative point to make. The hotel is Halal (muslim) and did not serve or stock any alcohol. We only discovered this when we returned to the hotel late in the evening on our first day and wanted a nightcap. This was not really a problem but I do think that the hotel think that the hotel should clearly state what their policy/belief is.

Doing online booking is the very encouraging. I never had any problem on Registration and Check-out. Everything was settled and arranged according to what is expected. Room is good. The only thing was, I was not given my prefered floor and room view. I hope this can be rectified as to the satisfaction of members and future members. The people are very friendly, Concierge...Receptionists...Doorman...Security pesonel...Chambermaids.

This hotel standard was a little bit poor, but it was ok because it was actually very cheap and it's not like you can't stand it. The staff was very helpfull and friendly. The breakfast that was provided was OK, I stayed there for 1 week and we ate breakfast there everyday. This hotel is very near to Kho San road, here you will be able to meet other backpackers from all over the world.... and Kho San road is a place you should visit while you are in Bankok. The only negative thing about this hotel is that it is too far away from Bankok's shopping centres. every night when you try to get a tuc tuc or a taxi from Siam most Taxi drivers don't want to drive that far... or they will charge you 300 bath and then you might have to bargain for a very long time before you actaully find a taxi driver who is willing to drive so far, another problem is that not so many drivers know about the hotel's location. Most of the times they have to ask for directions to find this hotel.

The location was great--close to Koh San Road. The hotel at first glance seems nice, but after waiting for over twenty minutes to check-in without a smile or reassuring nod from the front desk agents, we were a little surprised. The rooms are very old and outdated, however clean. Bathroom toiletries were sparse, so if you decide to stay, take your own shampoo, conditioner, etc...Towels were very old and shabby, but the bed linens seem newer and clean.
Most hotels nowadays have safety boxes available for use in the room or at the front desk. Again, we waited quite awhile just to inquire about them and subsequently found out that you must purchase your own lock to use the boxes. Upon return to the hotel, no one was standing watch at the bell desk and once again, we ended up wating for about 15 minutes for the right person to sign the form to allow us to take back our lock and belongings!
This hotel is nice enough if you are traveling for a short time, but after more than a day, I would have gotten REALLY fed up!
