Lynton from Australia stayed in a Metropolitan room for 3 days.
Excellent location very close to all that Bangkok has to offer whilst being just far enough to offer peace and serenity from the noisy and wild side of Bangkok. It is a beautifully designed property with thoughtful and tasteful fitout. One improvement could be blackout curtains to aviod the early morning sun. Although it is not the the cheapest in its class, overall it ptovides a very pleasant experience.Hotel Facilities

Andrew from United Kingdom stayed in a Metropolitan room for 3 days.
A most relaxing and warm environment which is professionally run. Service is always fast and efficient and the staff give you space to enjoy the excellent facilities. Being set-back off Sathorn road helps with the tranquility, and it provides for a rare oasis amongst the inner city of Bangkok.Hotel Facilities

Friendliness was a most exellent thing at a Met. The staffs are little shy but so friendly and kind. I think a service is most important in a hotel. Because it could change your mood.Hotel Facilities

A HotelTravel.com Member from United Kingdom stayed in a Terrace room for 2 days.
I had wanted to stay in this hotel for a long while - the combination of the well decorated rooms, the highly efficient staff and the amenities sounded amazing.
When I stayed there, the rooms were decent - I booked a terrace room which had an outdoor shower as well as an indoor shower. The quality of the room was good, though the showers lacked pressure sufficient to my taste. However, overall I was satisfied. I had a Terrace Room - larger than average with an outside area. The room was spacious, but the showers lacked strong water pressure. The furniture was satisfactory.
The staff were generally very pleasant and conversant in English though I remember after the first night, when I was recovering from jet lag the staff wanted to make up my room at 10 AM, then again at 12 PM and further at 2 PM when I told them I would leave a sign on the door as to when they should make up the room. That was disappointing.
The 'members only' club called The Met Bar had good food, was reasonable, though was hardly very busy most of the time, with the majority of people only from the hotel (guests).
Overall a decent place, but the layout is a bit strage, no doubt harking from the fact that this used to be the YMCA.
The hotel is not exactly very close to the BTS stations, though it is near Suan Lom Night Bazaar and the MRT station there. May be easier to take a cab to places (if you can find one). You are near Banyan tree and the Night Bazaar so there are cabs, but outside the hotel there can be a wait. The public transport system in BKK is not so accessible.
The food was enjoyable - The Met Bar had good Thai food, and Glow had great healthy food. I did not eat at Cyan which is a continental restaurant as I recall.
The concierge can help book restaurants, bars, etc. And they are friendly.
It was enjoyable and I may stay there again. I liked the feel of the place.Hotel Facilities

Adrian from United Kingdom stayed in a City room for 1 day.
What makes this hotel stand out, apart from its minimalist style and good taste, is the friendly and helpful staff. The staff at the Metrolitan are also efficient in every task and knowlegeable about everything in Bangkok and nothing is too much trouble for them. Whether you are staying for business or leisure the hotel staff will make you feel at home without being obtrusive.Hotel Facilities

Simon from United Kingdom stayed in a Terrace room for 1 day.
A nice hotel, new rooms are quite spacious but we had no view, only an outside terrace area (enclosed). Service is only average and the restaurants were a bit too bare my our taste.
We were allocated a room on the smoking floor when we specifically asked for non-smoking, everything smelled bad outside the room ( the room was ok). They called a meterless metertaxi for us to the airport. A 5* hotel should not be doing this. They didn't check the taxi would use his meter. We were haggling all the way to the airport. Nice hotel, but not worth the money in my opinion.Hotel Facilities
