The situation, in beautiful gardens, on the riverbank away from the hustle and bustle of Bangkok is magic. I loved the room; it was very comfortable and nice. The food was amazing, I was only there for one day and one night but I SO enjoyed every meal I ate. I wanted to stay longer to experience more, but was only taking a quick break from a work trip. I had a wonderful 'short' stay!

Business was down as the economics of the times showed f or the hotel Industry in general. The Marriott was about 50% of full occupancy. I requested an upgrade and was granted one in a beautiful deluxe suite. The pool area is one of the finest I have ever encountered and was extensive and quite beautiful. The restaurants are high Quality but a little pricy for Thailand and seemed Quite empty a sign of the times. You can go to the mall next door and experience a massage or good Thai food at a fraction of the price. The hotel staff are very friendly and go out of the way to help you in the Land of Smiles. The free upgrade certainly helped this trip to be very pleasant and cost effective. Of course if you have lots of money or the company is paying for it all the bettor.

This is a nice place to stay, although it is someone out of the way, the hotel offers a free boat ride (which is fun to take) to the skytrain. The hotel is very impressive with excellent grounds. Have a Thai person book it and you can get the "Thai Price". "555"

We had a wonderful time at the hotel, and would be delighted to recommend it to anyone. The staff were all so friendly and helpful, and the facilities superb. Our children especially loved the pool, and the Thai dancing in the evening. The concierge helped us organise all the things we wanted to do, and everything worked almost seamlessly. We travelled with my 75 year old mother who unfortunately had a fall whilst we were there, but the staff were all so attentive, and kept asking after her. She was especially delighted to receive a letter and gift from the manager before we left. Top marks! We will definitely be back!

The staff were friendly and helpful. It's the third time I've stayed here and if just allows you to get away from the hustle and bustle of Bangkok. Be careful when booking a tour from the hotel. Ensure that they are going to drop you back at the hotel and not beside the boat pier in town.Waited half an hour one morning for the boat which is supposed to come every 15 minutes.

The friendly staff - nothing is too much trouble. The bed linen is unbelievably luxurious, the toiletries are not just a gimmick and the housekeeping staff are particularly good. The resort is a hidden gem in a smog laden city - beautiful riverside location, A pleasant river trip by hotell ferry which goes every 15 minutes to skytrain. This is covered above - the ambience is great and the riverside location picturesque, hard to imagine busy Bangkok a short ferry ride away. Wonderful buffets, romantic settings. Evening entertainment is varied, traditional Thai - or western music groups. Award winning landscaping surround the pool, plenty of space to relax and be waited on.

Clean, beutifully designed. and convenient. Adjacent mall makes for easy trip to massage or snack pick up. The location is not too far south, as the river taxi takes you right to the train station. Taxis at the Marriott and at pier drop off are always available too. I would highly reccommend this location.

The hotel was excellent in every way....the ambience, the facilities, the service, the food, the privacy, etc, etc, etc. However, the hotel was located rather inconveniently if one wanted to do sightseeing, which fortunately we didn't want to. good for tourists but for business travelers, it may be a nightmare. I reserved a van for 3 persons to get to the airport the night before. I again confirmed with the staff at 7 am on the departure day and they told me the van will be waiting at 8 am sharp. Much to my horror, when we got there at 8, no van was in sight and the staff seemed confused as to what should be done. After much yelling from my boss, they finally pull out 2 Benz to bring us to the airport, just in the nick of time to catch our flight out of Bangkok

We went 10 times to Marriotte Riverside because we love this resort facing the river with a tropical garden and a big pool. After business you can relax and feel like holiday in this resort. Very good restaurants and a great Mandara Spa.Price for a juniorsuite riverview is okay. Also nice to have a shuttleboat to the skytrain. We recommand this hotel to people which love a quiet hotel a lot of facilites and an amazing view to the river and skyline of Bangkok.

This is a high quality hotel and I have stayed here several times as it suits my needs very well. The rooms are large and very comfortable with nice bathrooms. Professional, friendly staff will help you willingly. The gardens and pool area are really restful and a lovely place to relax. There are large lobbies, bars, reasonably priced lunch buffets and several other more sophisticated restaurants and a spa (which I found expensive). As I frequently use Bangkok as a stopover, I enjoy the more peaceful location down the river away from the shops, traffic, tourist bars, etc. However, the shuttle boat to the pier and BTS station makes the out of the way location more accessible to all that. If you want to be near the markets and nightlife this is not the place for you but if you have already visited Bangkok and done all the sights, then this offers a more relaxing stay. There is a small shopping centre nearby and the hotel's business centre offers internet, etc (although it is expensive). Personally, I don't mind paying more if the hotel provides these services on site. The taxi from the airport costs more too but for me, the peace and quiet is worth it. HotelTravel's generous discount ensures that this is very good value for money and I would definitely book through them again.

An excellent place to stay in Bangkok. Being both low rise and right on the river it has a very special, yet relaxed feel about it. Great pool area and gardens. The staff are very pleasant and helpfull throughout. Their famous Manora evening meal cruise was simply excellent. On the down side it is a bit further out of town than most. (allthough the complementary shuttle boat over and along the river is a great help) Also when paying my bill they tried to charge me in pounds at a very low exchange rate - make sure you pay in Bhat.

We were so much impressed by the excellent service, the helpfull and lovely staff, the beautiful hotel with its stylish asian interior, the outdoor area with the wonderful pool garden just in front of the river; the breakfast is great, you find everything you like to eat,all in all this hotel is deluxe, you do not miss anything and the staff makes everything possible, its so wonderful and relaxed to return after a long day in this stressing city, you feel like in an oasis. We loved our stay and at our next thailand-trip we definetly stay there again. I love this hotel. This year I only got to stay 2 days but everytime I go through Bangkok which has been about 5 times in the last 5 years I stay either coming or going. It is right on the river, the restaurants are great, the pool is great and best of all are the people at the hotel are wonderful. There are great river connections to all kinds of transportation so even if you don't want to walk you can still get around. I am just sorry I don't go more often.

An extraordinary facility with exceptional staff and service. Wonderful bed and bedding, typical of highest standards of JW and resort Marriotts world wide. wonderful riverside location, great views, free very frequent (4x an hour) river taxi right to skyway is invaluable. Several first class restaurants. Marketplace has exceptional breakfast buffets. Excellent equipment, nice clean quiet business center. However, one member of the business center staff was consistently condescending to my secretary whenever she was in the center conducting essential business.

The room is spacious and the staff are very friendly. They can converse in English comfortably. The free ferry service is very convenient. I enjoyed my stay in this resort and would certainly look forward to my next stay here. The complimentary ferry service is very convenient and service on the boat ride is a big plus!

I have stayed at this hotel for many years and regard it as the best in Bangkok. It avoids the frenetic Sukhumvit Road hotels and is an oasis for relaxation after an arduous day out in the heat and humidity. The hotel boat to the skytrain terminal is free and efficient. The staff are exceptionallly friendly and the restaurants good value.Thoroughly recomended.

We weren't real impressed with the room we were given upon check in. It had very little natural light, so we paid an extra $40 US per night for an upgrade and were given a huge corner room with windows all the way around. It was perfect. We also loved the pool, swim up bar, and breakfast buffet. The hotel is a little pricey for Bangkok and Thailand in general, but not too bad when compared to hotels of similar quality here in the States. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay on the river in Bangkok.

Very good hotel, friendly staff, really high standard room, very nice tropical garden. Compared to the other more expensive hotels in Bangkok, this is probably one of the top 5 i tried there in the last 10 years,i would recommand this hotel for business or leisure purpose. Excellent! I'll stay there next time!

Marriott Resort and Spa is my favorite hotel in Asia. I was so very happy to have booked with HotelTravel.com. They were able to provide me with the best room, view and great service. I will always use their service for all my business travel in the future.

Lovely bathroom, nice pool, and restaurants. Staff are all wonderful, so friendly and obviously happy in their work. No hotel i have stayed in compares on this. Kids Club is loved by our 9 year old, bbq at the riverside is fabulous...will not stay anywhere else in Bangkok. A little out the way for shopping but for a relax in bangkok it's perfect. Regular riverboat and taximeter on call.

I like the location of the hotel which resides on the river bank. I enjoyed 15 minutes ferry ride that takes us to the skytrain station. The internal room decoration is not as "luxury" as I expected in a Marriot standard.

This hotel was just perfect..The rooms were spotless, the staff friendly, the decor very nice..The room was huge with hardwood floors and nice big bed with comfy bedding..A nice desk, wicker chair and ottoman and even a dresser and 2 night tables..Lots of room to put luggage..Bathroom was larger with nice marble tiles..The pool just awsome and the food and choice of restaurants was fabulous..Just loved this hotel!! Although the hotel is situated on the river, there is a river taxi to take you to the main pier which is within walking distance to the Skytrain, so it is very easy to get around..Very reasonable price for all of the amenities and the standard of the hotel...

A lovely hotel with lush tropical garden and modern Thai decor. Hotel staff are all friendly, attentive, and well-trained. The room is spacious enough and very clean. Food at the restaurants, especially the Chinese Restaurant, are excellent. Swimming pool is quite big for a hotel in a city area. Far from the city center of Bangkok, but the shuttle boat service provided by the hotel solves the problem. As compared to other 5-star hotels in Bangkok, this is definitely value for money. Will stay at this hotel again.

In a busy and crowded city as Bangkok, was a real pleasure to stay at this hotel. The staff attentions, friendliness and efficency was the highlight for us. Room decoration was very tasteful. Room size - deluxe in my case - was adequate. Although a bit farther than most big hotels, for me was not a problem. A fifteen minutes ride in the Marriott ferry served the purpose of getting some fresh air on the way back from the city. Would stay again at the Marriott Resort without hesitation.

Just what we needed after 2 weeks roughing it in Cambodia! Fantastic hotel, room lovely, staff very attentive - whether they were 'serving' us, opening doors, or helping me break a broken padlock off my bag! Breakfast superb. Restaurants on the pricey side for the region - but superb anyway! Spa was a lovely way to prepare for our flight home too. Only niggle was having to pay for the Marriott water in restaurants, when it was free in the rooms! Will definetly go again

Extremely friendly and obliging staff. The location of the place outside the hustle and bustle of the city is really wonderful, and dining outside under the tropical skz on the hotel terrace right next to the Chao Praya River with young dancers performing classical Thai dance and under beautifully lit trees has been most memorable. The cleanliness of the place was very reassuring, the tropical gardens of the place and the level of security are amazing, and the complimentary boat shuttle service to and from Bangkok provided by the hotel every 15 minutes, including scented refreshment towels and a cool drink and very caring staff were just the right thing to welcome you back from a day (or even a few hours) of sightseeing). Highly recommended!

We loved this hotel. Facilties and accommodation were great. The swimming pool set in lush gardens was lovely. The hotel provided a riverboat which took 15 minutes and linked to the Skyline. Did not find the location any problem it was actually quite nice to have the ride to and from the hustle of the city. On the way back to the hotel they even provided cold towels and water. WOuld definately stay again.

This is a great hotel located a few minutes from the downtown section of the city on the river. They have a boat taxi that takes you to the sky train every 15 minutes. You have the feeling of being out of the city but yet very convenient to all amenities. The staff is super, very welcoming, courteous, and helpful. The rooms are well appointed and comfortable. The services they offer are excellent. My wife and I travel quite a bit and this is one of our favorite hotels in the world!

Staff was very friendly and attentive. Service was good.. Food at the restaurants was very delicious and prices were reasonable. Buffet breakfast was good with a large number of choices (fruits, juices, cheese, pancakes, etc..). Free ferry trasnfer to the Saphar Taksin BTS train station was very convenient. After a tiresome afternoon in the downtown bangkok, complimentary refreshments on the ferry was very pleasant. The only thing we found as disturbing was the high price of the spa.

We booked to stay 1 night at the beginning of our 3 week holiday in Thailand and were so impressed that we booked it for our last night too as we knew it would provide a final night of luxury at the end of our dream trip. It provided the perfect start and conclusion to a perfect holiday and we are certain that it will visit again, even if only transitting through Bangkok. The design and layout of the hotel is simply stunning and the staff are so friendly and obliging. We stayed when it was relatively quiet and then again when it was almost full and found that on both occassions that we wanted for nothing and enjoyed every minute of our stay.

When we booked this stay I was pretty concerned about the hotel's out of the way location, but this turned out to be no problem at all. The hotel's free shuttle boat leaves every 15 minutes and takes you right up to the BTS monorail station, making getting around very easy. In fact, it was more convenient than our other stay at the Royal Orchid Sheraton -- which has a public riverboat stop right next to it... however going anywhere else from the Sheraton pretty much necessitates a taxi ride. I was impressed by the common areas of the Marriott. It really felt like a tropical oasis in Bangkok. Our Junior Suite room was clean and had all the niceties we expected. And the hotel staff! They were absolutely fantastic! They would always greet us politely and would go out of their way to help us when we needed help or information. I would highly recommend this hotel and definitely plan to stay here again the next time we are in Bangkok.

Excellent hotel with beautiful surroundings. It is on the opposite side of the river of the main area of Bangkok, so you have to take a shuttle boat to get to public transportation (the Skytrain), but the boat is beautiful and relaxing. We had breakfast and an upgrade to a river view room. Breakfast was excellent. Food at the hotel tended to be quite costly, but there are some resturants next door in a small mall. Nothing special and we tended to take the boat to the otherside of the river and eat at resturants there. The Marriott is a beautiful resort and if you are in Bangkok, especially for liesure, I would highly recommend staying here.
