Contrary to some reviews I have seen elsewhere, I enjoyed my stay throughout! When I first stepped into the hotel, the bellboy greeted me with a smile, was efficient in carrying my luggage aside and directed me to the check-in counters. The staff facilitating the check-in procedures were forthcoming and friendly. She was also fast and efficient in her work. When I went up to my room, the luggage porter even helped me switch on my TV and asked which channel I preferred. He also checked for me that all the amenities were functioning. On discovery of a missing hairdryer, he called for his floor m...

I stayed at the Mandarin hotel two years ago, it was a busy hotel and couldn't be faulted, this time is was so quiet I thought we were the only ones staying there, didn't see a sole till breakfast then not many people, the swimming pool couldn't be used as the filter was not on and the water stagnent, also saw rats around the pool area, did tell reception and the next morning the pool was being cleaned, the hotel needs a lot doing to get it back to the original standard also the charge was 40% more expensive, having said that the staff were very good and so was the breakfast, also the room was comfortable and clean.

bedrooms are fairly large but very dated.Have stayed here twice before but this will be our last time, infact we checked out 3 days early. Hotel is very run down in most parts and the block that had the fire in last year has not been repaired and is the main view from the pool area that is also overun with pigeons. This hotel has had its day, especially since the fire and also location is only good for MRT station as taxis at the hotel will rip you off and there are no local shops really within walking distance. Would i recommend this hotel, sadly NO.

The staff are pleasant and friendly, location is great and room is comfortable. Definitely value for money. However I like to comment that the hotel lobby always has a smell of incense, I'm a chinese and used to incense, but what i smelled was something unpleasant almost like an abandoned old builing. But once out of the lobby the smell is gone, if the smell is remove i'm sure i will enjoy the stay more.

We stayed at the |Mandarin Hotel for three nights on arriving in Bangkok, this is a lovely hotel, the food was excellent and no fault could be found, we also spent our last night here and I would recommend it to anyone, it is also very near the subway with easy access to the night market.

Service was horrible (front desk). I was required to pay extra Bht500 when my cousin came and visited me at the hotel room after 8.00pm. What sort of regulations or terms put up by the hotel management. This is the first time I ever came across this problem. I will never stay in this hotel ever again.

Located nearby Hualampong railway station ( app. 1 km ) ,to the next subway station 1 minutes to walk ( it is 1 station before hua lampong station ) ! The room is nothing special, but it is not to bad. Swimming Pool its a bit to small but still O.K. The best thing is the location ...

Good hotel, value for money. Spacious and clean rooms. The shower in the bathroom is made for Asian people, I had to sit on my knees to wash my hair!! Nice swimming pool with an extra sun level with sunbeds when you go upstairs. Breakfast is very good enough choice. However, I had the impression that they want to compensate the cheap hotel rates with expensive taxi service. If you tell the reception you're leaving they call a taxi for you without asking. They call the expensive limousine service in front of the hotel which costs you for a ride to the airport 900 Bht, while the normal taxi (metered taxi's) charge you 500Bht for a ride to the airport!

The condition of our hotel room looked old, and was not as clean as we expected. One of the bottom on the lists of hotels I would choose if I do return to Bangkok.

Impressive entrance area-it was like a 4 star lobby for 3 star price. Staff was very helpful. Rooms were slightly dowdy but overall very good value for money, if you get the special deals. It's not in a great area and the taxi desk is expensive but if you don't mind walking down the street a bit you can get metered taxis easily. Good hotel for families on a mid-range budget or backpackers looking to move up a notch in quality.

This is the third visit with my family to this hotel. The room condition is so-so. One thing i like best is the location, although no shopping nor food stall nearby but accessiblility is good - no traffic jam and will not face problem with rejected taxi during peak hour.

This hotel is a good value only because of its locations and cheap internet room rates. The rooms are marginal at best, but they are clean and have everything one needs for a pleasant nites stay in central Bangkok.

Hotel location is perfect, especially it is close to shopping malls and night bazaar. The American breakfast was good, their staff were friendly and professional. The room and furnishing were not too bad, it was worth it for hotel`s room rate.

As far as Thai hotel is concern, this hotel didn't live up to my expectation with the exception of the house keeping staff which found my leather jacket and placed it in a bag. I later came back and was very grateful to have it returned to me. As far as the room is concern, it is a very old and beat up hotel but the breakfast/breakfast dining room were nice...Very little smile from the staff.

This hotel would have been a grand hotel in its day, but today it is a little tired. At its current priceing it is excellant value for money and its position close to patpong and silom (about 5 mins walk ) is great. We will be staying there next time in bangkok.

The room is quite big but u can tell the bathroom is not that new. Location is ok. service... what can i say? The staff there are not nice and friendly. I asked the bellboy call a taxi for me, he said yes but no action, after 10 mins waiting i have to go street and get a cab by myself.

It is really value for money. Location is ideally near BTS station (5 mins walk). Although the king-size bed we requested for was a joined two single-beds, we did not mind. However the hotel personnel were not very friendly. The hotel transportation is more than double the normal - So avoid it!

This place is poorly located, difficult to get to, and nothing around it to recommend it. A one star hotel that is run down with rooms that are just passable. Food was good. Bell Captain tried to sell me one of their private cars to the airport for 500 bt when the total cost was less than half that. He thought I was a tourist who did not know the place. For 24 US $ it was still a bit overpriced given a poor window, now view, room badly needing everything from paint to fixings, and ants running along the walls! Staff was hard working and even had an internet service that was very expensive. This place is beneath your standards and should be removed from your list. Certainly not value for the money!

On discovery of a missing hairdryer, he called for his floor manager who arrive promptly and assured me that the hairdryer would be delievered a.s.a.p. True enough, the chambermaid brought the hairdryer over in less than a minute. The triple-room I'd booked was spacious and cosy and came with all the amenities you would expect. The room decorations was bright and cheery and all the equipment functioned well. My room had a good view of the Bangkok city as well.
