I have only one complaint about Grand Mercure i.e. Internet connection is very poor. Mind you it is not free. Though I have highlighted this problem to the hotel staff on several occasions during my previous stays; sadly, to date nothing had been done to improve it. Otherwise, I always look forward to staying at the Grand Mercure during my trips to Bangkok.

The street where the hotel is a busy street of bars. The hotel is nice. The breakfast is quite good. Also there is western restaurant in the hotel which we didnt try but looks nice. Its convenient because 10 minutes walking distance to light rail and metro stations.

A very good hassle free stay. Hotel a short walk down a street with lots of small businesses, bars, shops, resturants, internet cafes and laundry places. I'm told that there is German beer in some bar here but did not find (proximity to German embassy). Only problem was hotel seemed to be low on hot water for first 12 hours, which corrected itself without staff intervention (they found all was normal - except hot water it was not). Room service food was good. A nice hotel in a laid back area a short walk form the bustle and traffic of Sukhumvit Road.

When I arrived in BKK, my luggage was lost. When I left Grand Mercure BKK it still was not there. The staff helped me with telephoning a few times a day to Thai Airlines. Only one time they dissapointed me, when I wanted to sent an email to the company that sold my ticket to ask them what to do. Suddenly they didn't understand me. At the end I decided to send a fax for which I had to pay 267 baht. I understand that everything has to be paid, but why they did not allow me to send a quick mail? I continued my voyage at Mercure Pattaya, which they informed about my unlucky situation (bag).
About the hotel. It's nice, modern and clean. My room was small but very functional. I also noticed that the airconditioning is from a lovely quietness. The breakfast was excellent, the staff from reception to roommaid were extremely friendly.
Around. In soi 20,one street further, they started a big new wharf. This will certainly take more than a year, even when they work day and night. Now they are underground, once above this will certainly be not so interesting for the noise level in the rooms at the 'wrong' side.
Maybe they can offer these rooms at reduced rates.

This was the first stay for us at the Mercure. The hotel is really great - very tastefully decorated with a lovely, if small, swimming pool. We found the staff to be friendly and efficient. It's not too far up Soi 22, so still walking distance to the Emporium and Sky Train. My only criticism is that I found the room a bit small. Fine if you are just on business, but a pain if you've done loads of shopping!

Disappointed as we did not get the double bed as requested on the reservation. The staff were friendly at all times. The room is nice but the size is small and the bathroom is narrow. There's no problem to get a cab from the hotel. The distance to the train station is far away...25 mins walk. Well, overall it is value for money.

Not the most convenient location if you intend to use the BTS Skytrain or subway because it requires a good 15-20 minute trek. However, the hotel itself is very appealing and the breakfast is excellent.

Whilst the room itself was quite nice, the shower was horrible - alternating between hot and cold water.

TV channels in the room are boring. Zee Music is a waste of time. Recommend it to be replaced with Zee TV channel instead. The Counter serving "made to order eggs" should be relocated outside the main dining area of the restaurant during breakfast. The dining area gets very smokey and we have to change our clothes before we proceed for our meetings after breakfast.

We arrived at the hotel about 2 am in the morning and we were told that they over booked the hotel so we were transfered including 10 other guests to a cheap hotel close by. We stayed in the four wings hotel standard room for 45 USD but we paid 67 usd for deluxe room at Pavillion or grand mercure. They told us that they will pick us up the next day so we set the time. At 10 am nobody called so we have to call them we waited and basically waisted the whole morning waiting to be transfer back to the original hotel, Grand Mercure.
The Bathroom is really tiny and stupid door design can't even fit one person and i've tripped at the door several times beacuse it was not properly built. Staff are so unhelpfull. There's only one staff that is really nice.

Unfortunately the Hotel was overbooked. Upon my late arrival (1 am) I was transfered to one night to another Hotel (same class), however far away from my intended area to stay.
Aside this I really liked the Hotel. The staff was super friendly. The Pool area was great and the rooms were the best I have ever been in while staying in Bangkok at a 4 Star Hotel.
