This was our 5th stay at the Indra Regent Hotel Bangkok. Each time the service manages somehow to improve on previous perfect visits and we travel a great deal and experience many hotels. In particular we would like to name the restaurants which are second to none, particularly Botanica which served crayfish in such abundance one of the 7 evenings we ate there that we thought we were on a luxurious holiday! Indeed we were! Ages were from 30 years to 85 years and comment should be made that the Chandlier Bar made everyone feel so welcome, the service was second to none. Some London Hotels cou...

Myself and family members have stayed at the Indra Regent a few times before. On this occasion there were 9 family members, including 4 children aged 6 years to 14 years, and the accommodation was perfect for our stay. We arrived at the Indra Regent at approx 9pm (thailand time) following a day fraught with airline problems where all of us had been up since 3:30am (australian time). We ordered room service as we had not had a decent meal in that time and it promptly arrive on a table beautifully set out and well presented. By this time we had been awake for 23 hours. Nothing was a problem for the staff. We found the rooms to be clean and the bathroom especially was good (we've experienced some pretty terrible bathrooms in our travels). The rooms were quite and pleasant to sleep in.The staff were great with the children. The breakfast was exceptional with a huge variety and most importantly the hot food was kept hot. The children ate to their heart's content. We found the shopping around the indra Regent to be fantastic and would not bother with department stores or the like - the markets were great, the thais were friendly and the prices were fantastic. Men's T Shirts were 89 to 100 baht each (about $4.00 Australian). Everything you could have wanted was available in the markets. I would definitely recommend a stay at the Indra Regent and would have no hesitation in returning there on my next trip. A word of warning: Get your own taxi or tuk tuk outside of the Indra Regent as the hotel arranged ones cost you quite a lot more if they organise it.

I had stayed in more expensive places in the last few years. This is my first time at Indra Regent. Over all good hotel equal to several more costly hotels in Bangkok. But I was very disappointed about one thing. I made my booking in October 2008 for my stay in Jan 2009. I had requested a non-smoking room. They gave me a smoking room even though I had booked months ahead.

The Indra is a hotel I use often in Bangkok, and is great for it's location near some of the shopping markets of Pratunum area. The Hotel staff is good, i a little impersonal at the front desk.It is largely a group hotel, with large number of European Tourists each year making a nice atmosphere. This is the first time that breakfast was not included in the price offered by Hotel Travel, and I was not as happy about that. However, I had no problem finding breakfast in the attached shopping Mall, eating either at the mcDonalds' if I felt cheap or at the Black Canyon Cafe if I had the time.

A little small, and dated decor. had all the amenities one would require. We had limited need for service but that which we used was good. we only used breakfast and it was good in as much as it had all the elements required but the dated setting or venue was a little below norm. A little difficult as the decor etc is very dated. Hotel is of 80s or early nineties "pattern" and could use a makeover. However it all appeared clean. located next to or within short distance of major shopping precincts etc. My wife appreciated this and the opportunity to shop on street and in side lanes. Plenty of activity re private limo, metered taxis, etc

Our stay at the Indra Regent Hotel was a real pleasure. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and ensured that all checking in and out was very quick and pain-free, the room was of a very high quality and the facilities were excellent. The breakfasts were a highlight with the staff doing an outstanding job keeping the buffet so well stocked with a good variety of hot and cold fresh foods for a large volume of guests. Special mention must be made of the chef cooking fresh omelettes, he was brilliant. We look forward to returning to Bangkok and staying at the Indra Regent again.

The rooms were noisy. You can hear water running through out the night.....upstairs ...next door all around. Noise can also be hear when the staff is making the bed and cleaning up the room on the other side of the wall. Besides the room overall its an average but efficient hotel who caters to large crowds. Little or no ameninities.....its a 4 star hotel and it does not provide you with all the standard toiletries. Little or no service what so ever...you would have though you were living in a high end condominium. The only time when the staff is noticable is during check out. The bell man will of course run to you for your bags. Otherwise come and go as you please with little or no recognition....no hellos or good mornings. Traffic, traffic, traffic....good for walking around the shops near by but bad if you need to get a cab to go somewhere. Ordinary food ordinary staff....no hellos or good mornings....just "Room Number" ??? when you get into the coffee house.

It's good value for the money.Good location and friendly staff.I was disappointed that the hotel charged 1500bhat to allow the shipping company to colllect my goods. Most unreasonable! Rooms are clean and comfortable. gym equipment rusty, old and useless.Gym was the dirtiest I've ever seen. Bellman, checkin and room service was very good. Centrally located to shopping areas. Cotinually harrassed about transport each time I walked out the door.Do not take no for an answer(especially tuk-tuk drivers0.However we did eventually meet a tuk-tuk driver who was both very nice and helpful. We used him in the evenings when he worked.

The Indra regent was a very nice hotel. The swimming pool was great but the poolside bar was very expensive and equivalent to Western prices if not more expensive. The Sala Thai restaurant was excellent, the waiting staff teaching us how to fold the napkins into a lotus flower. The breakfast buffet was also excellent, with a huge variety of food on offer. Staff were very friendly and there is a very good market right next door. The shower was hot but the room itself smelt a bit smokey. Overall a very nice place to stay, but other than the Sala thai restuarant I would recommend going out for dinner as the hotel food and drink is expensive.

The Indra Regent is an older hotel with a lot of groups, largely from Europe and Austrailia/New Zealand. It's comfortable, well kept and handles the traffic well. Rooms were good sized, clean, good hot water in shower and comfortable. Bell service when needing to store a bag was great-- Room clening was consitantly good, and limited contact with reception and business center was all positive--Breakfast was buffet-- fine-- didn't really use the main restaurants, but was a little disappointed a lack of a coffee shop-- the lobby coffee shop really wastn't the same. The location is also a good one for shoppers-- connected directly to a moderately priced shopping mall it also is in the heart of Bangkok's 'garment district'--crowded, but can be a lot of fun if you enjoy looking for clothing. Within walking distance of the major IT mall in Bangkok-- Panthip Plaza--oinly downside to location is lack of access to the skytrain.

Indra Regent itself has some hundreds of stores in its building, not to mention those street vendors outside the Hotel. The shopping malls are not too far to walk to - 10 to 15 mins walk. The staff at the reception counter were very friendly, so were those at the breakfast area. At a matter of fact, they were very accommodating. The rooms (two rooms) we had were spacious and clean, but the flow of water from the showers were slow. Buffet breakfast was good. Will we stay there again? The answer is yes.

I like the location, its so convenient. The shopping area is just around the corner and also the whole area outside the hotel. The only thing that I would like to highlight is the breakfast. The Indra is a decent hotel, fairly clean with good service except the front doormen who are running the typical Bangkok scam: They will only hail cabs who's drivers won't use the meter. It is absolutely impossible to get a taxi with a meter in front of the Indra.

Location is good close to many famous market however staff service has some problem, I left my note book one night at lobby lounge, I asked reception they said they don't know, I once gave up their help and moved to lounge to ask about it by myself again however lounge lady told me she found it yesterday and informed it at reception, I was surprised. And in fact my note book was in reception!! I just appriciate that lounge lady's work but can't believe reception staff and operation system in this hotel totally. I hope they will develop their information system and hospitally mind more.

Location of the indra Regent is excellent, as several good shopping centres are within easy walking distance and the Pratunam Market is right on the doorstep. I felt safe at all times both during the day and after dark. Staff at the hotel were both gracious and helpful. The standard of the food was reasonably good. Most of the breakfast dishes were lukewarm at best (even at 6:00 am when breakfast service commenced). However, the variety of dishes offered at the breakfast buffet were more than edequate. I ate in the Coffee Shop on two occasions and it was noticable that there were hardly any other customers. The Thai dishes selected were cooked to order and delicious. I enjoyed a Buffet in the hotel one evening, where the service and the standard of the food (both Western and Oriental) were outstanding. It was excellent value for money. I occupied a Deluxe twin room on the 16th Floor (Room 1616). The layout of the room was standard with a small lobby with wardrobe.

Needs wireless internet. Only has 3 computers in the Business Center which closes early. Price is 4 times the internet charge across the street at the cafe.

A great hotel for the money spent and close to the best shopping and markets. Because of the location and price we will definitely return. The staff are not that friendly but they are so busy. Its definitely worth a try for first timers. I found most of the westerners that stay in the hotel are Australians, Kiwis and South Africans

If shopping is what you want, then this is THE place to stay. It really caters for the middle class family in Bangkok, plenty of kids and family types. One of the best things about the Indra is the lobby... a great place to sit and watch the world go by. The Chandelier Bar has the worst welcome "cocktail" I have ever tasted, it is just a tiny glass of watered down fruit juice. The entertainment in the bar at night is great though. Unlike the rest of Thailand, the check in staff are just about the most unwelcoming of any hotel Ive been to. I know they have to handle a lot of people, but a smile would be nice. We got the junior suite upgrade and it was worth it - corner rooms with big windows overlooking the city. Pool and fitness centre are very pleasant. Make sure the buffet breakfast is included with your stay, some of our party didnt get it and had to fork out ten aussie dollars a day when the rest of us got it for nothing. From the room service menu I can reccomend the club sandwich

Some London Hotels could well learn a big lesson from the Indra Regent which although it might be struggling in some ways with a down turn of Australian visitors can rest assured that many of us from Western Australia will continue to consider it our 'second home' in Asia. Well done, Indra Regent staff and management. We will return April and November 2006. Thank you for a superb respite from our working life.

Good hotel, nice rooms for a good price and very friendly staff. Only a very expensive hotel-bar. Don't get a drink there!

A favourite. Right next door to the Pratunam markets and close to Sukhumvit Road. Excellent value for money. I've stayed there a number of times over the past 15 years and it's as reliable as ever. Rooms are clean, tidy and reasonably good size. Housekeeping is of a high standard. Pool area has been renovated. The hotel is one of the older style, but very reliable. Indra Centre mall alongside.
